Days of Future Past Bryan Singer Directing X-Men: Days of Future Past - Part 5

I don't get most of these posts. Seems like you guys are grasping at straws to make sense of it. She's clearly in those clothes WITH Bobby. That looks to me like they're on set near a camera too. How could it not be the real costume then? :funny: I agree with the person who says its street clothes. I think it's time to accept there's no "uniform" or the closest thing to it is dark inconspicious clothes. Mercenary like clothes but not an X-Men style uniform. The scalloped sleeves remind me of a ninja. I think it's a stylistic thing rather than practical but I can't really see the details.

The brown thing isn't so far fetched. The fact that Kitty and Logan are the ones in brown so far is interesting because brown ties them together while everyone else is in black and their styles are more similar. That may be a clue to their roles but no one can say bc we've seen so few costumes and we're not sure how final they are.

Jsyk, on May 30th Ellen will be back in LA. Probably even sooner. Ellen has to work on directing her film so I doubt she's the time traveller because that would require her to be in a lot of scenes. I hope she will be but the chances are looking slim that she is because her schedule may not allow for it. :( I don't want to get my hopes up. If she is surprisingly the one who time travels then I would LOVE them to recreate that cover too :hehe:

I like that they're wearing brown jackets but brown jackets aren't a uniform and shouldn't be judged like that.

Yes!

I rather hope not. I know it's a classic and all but I'd like to think we moved on from the "big fierce man protecting a frightened lil' lady" kind of stuff.
That's not exactly what jumps out at me when I see this poster. This view of big man protecting little lady is not really relevant when it comes to X-Men which has more strong female characters than pretty much any superhero/sci-fi/fantasy work I can think of. And that gives them as a team an edge to me over Avengers & Justice League.

Don't know why people are guessing they are gonna jump into different xmen uniforms, it seems the idea is this is casual wear in this dark future. Obviously the idea is to give each character a different and own look to suit the character

I'm guessing the wolverine will have Logan protecting a girl, and he protected the kids in X2

It's a way to give Logan this hero look

Maybe, but that's not what this specific poster is showing.

I agree. And in terms of the costumes looking weird so far like Storm's, Bobby's and now Kitty's, think about how the future needs to be portrayed as this strange place that's so different from what the characters in the past timeline are used to. It has to be a dangerous dystopia and can't just be similar to the normal stuff that we wear everyday in our future. Everything has to heighten that reality somewhat so that we believe it's an alternate timeline where the Sentinels exist. So things like costume in what we perceive as the future will need to look different and strange to our eyes as the audience too. Putting high collars, sharp angles, combining styles, and strange looking textures is the way to go to get this feel of an odd, threatening future. It's almost like the costumes are built to make you feel unsettled.

It may not look like what you want but it all serves a purpose. You just have think in a different way other than "that looks weird I don't like it".

Ellen Page looks super-cute, but the jacket is... ehh. Weird sleeves and weird detailing. I hope it's not what she actually wears in the movie.

Weirdness ftw! :word:

Hehehehe

love pics like this.

XMen actors united, so cool!

I think her look is fine enough. I like the jacket. I mean I would prefer costumes for all the x-men, but it is what it is.

I'm still trying to understand this almost unanimous assumption by everyone that each character will be wearing one outfit the entire film...

Yeah I expect them to change outfits as well. We have differend timelines for a reason guys!

It has nothing to do with different timelines, really. It's just common sense. People don't wear the same outfits, day in, day out. They will change their clothes, even in this terrible future.

It is amusing that people seem to think this.

If the future is just one small portion of the film, I doubt they will have more than one outfit.

yeah, and we dont know if the events of the future happens in just one day, or a few days.

On the comics its just One day, right?

That made the story at bit more intense with a stronger feel or urgency. Wouldnt be surprised if Bryan keeps a small time frame on the movie too.

and if not one day, two-three at most, I think.

What they wear in these pictures is probably gonna be what they are wearing through out the film,

The cast from the 70s first class may wear other clothes at some point though

If the movie is anything like the comics...I doubt the mutants in the future have much of a wardrobe. In the comics the few surviving X-Men were in a concentration camp and wore green prison uniforms.

So you really think Storm is going to be in her full X Men suit the entire film? While Logan and Kitty don't suit up at all?

why not?

the story doesnt have to lead to all the x-men doing the same, and having the same number of outfit changes

If its this dark future you have to believe they don't have time to change, they have to be ready to go at all times

But to answer your question I dunno about storm but the others could get away with not changing at all
