Then what is the point of people writing fanfiction? Should they just contact the writers and give them their ideas to incorpate into episodes?

Books like The Lost Slayer, Unseen, Book of Fours wouldnt fit into any of the Buffy seasons since that just wasnt where Joss was taking the show and ofcourse he didnt think of those ideas. Plus often some of the books arent even set during whatever season is being aired.

wiki has a good list with where they could fit in the timeline if the reader wanted them too. So far I haven't read any of the books that made me question whether they could be canon but it doesn't bother me either way.

Fan fiction is different coz it's crap and free on line. It's done for fun by crazy fans that think they can write.

There is none. People should just stop. :D
True...

You have no clue.

On the contrary...

I know that they anounced the cancelation of Angel on ET only a couple of months into the season.

I know that roughly half way through the season they stopped broadcasting Angel. Not showing reruns from earlier in the season, but stopped all together.

I know that they started airing new episodes about six weeks after the show was originally scheduled for termination (when they stopped airing them completely).

I know the quality of the shows went up considerably after the six week "break".

And I know better than to listen to the propaganda spewed out by UPN's PR department. "Oh, we were always planning to finish the season." "The six weeks without even any Angel reruns was a technical error." "We were misquoted when ET said we were cancelling the show instead of finishing it off." BULL S#!T

You are aware that Angel ran on The WB for its entire time on the air, right?

Wb even had a little thank you message at the end

I know this is the BTVS andAngel board but what do people think of their rival show Charmed? Personally i never liked it because it seemed like a cheaper(both visually in terms of effects and in writing) version of both shows.

Charmed started off dark, and more like a buffy rip... but it spawned into something brighter, and they made it there own out of the whole 8 seasons, i personally loved the show, buffy was more iconic and had better writting, but i love the power of 3. The shannen dougherty years were more drama driven, while the Rose McGowan years were much more fun and sassy... and i liked that aspect.

Idk it just felt like if it were more like "The Craft" it would be better. And if it actually didnt look so cheap. Besides inside of the house and other few places everything looked like a set. the various caves for the badguys lair was ridicoulous and tacky and the demons were just humans in leather. Also the special effects seemed sooo cheap.

Charmed was a half-decent supernatural drama that turned into fluffy garbage once Doherty got the boot.

the special effects up till the last season or so were actually pretty good.... i duno i think its just different strokes for dif folks. i mean i love buffy to death, but charmed didnt take itself as seriously, was more geared torwards girls, gay men, and really easy to please men (hot girls kicking ass), and was good for completely different reasons.

erm, the story is that Joss had asked Dawn Ofstroff if the show was going to be renewed for the next season, because for as long as the show had been on none of the actors or crew had any idea if they would still have jobs until the end of the season. Dawn told him to wait, but season 5 had been doing well and Joss was adamant about getting an answer immediately. So she said "no." And it was over.

I don't even think they showed more than two reruns during season 4. The network was not giving Angel much love.

she asked them to choose between her and Milano, and they chose Milano.:o

Doherty didnt get the boot she quit because she didnt like Alyssa Milano.

which doesnt surprise me though, Doherty hasn't held a stable job on tv in decades. I think very few people can get along with her.

Shamefully, I have all 8 series of charmed on DVD and for the most part charmed was just light hearted fun, the last series was shameful though.:o

Shannen nor Alyssa asked them to choose and Shannen didnt quit. They fired her while they were on summer hiatus and she was in canada filming a movie with Julian.

I loved Charmed S1-4 when it could be taken seriously and dished out some entertaining stories but after that it just went downhill. But I never really looked at it as Buffys rival due to how different the two shows were.

Yeah, when they added the girl from The Big Bang Theory.

Ya their decision to add a new charecter was so stupid. Add a new witch to the show so the 3 stars can have more time off....ya Kern whatever you say.

Her time on Charmed made me hate Cuoco!
