Bungie, Microsoft Part ways. :(

also the fact that MS still owns all rights to Halo as an intellectual property...even if Bungie could make games for other platforms (which they cant) they couldnt make a Halo one for it...

I think a lot of people when they first read the headline automatically assumed that Bungie would be making stuff for PS3 and Halo going multi platform and just never really read what it actually means. This is a huge move for the 360.

it's not really that big a deal IMO...so bungie have creative control back, that's all it means when you get right down to it...good, I wasnt expecting more Halo other than the spinoffs anyway...

Money talks, the game will go to Sony..it's all a matter of time.

Bungie might make a game for Sony someday (but not for a long, long time), but it isn't going to be Halo. Bungie doesn't own the rights to Halo, Microsoft does.

And chances are that Bungie won't even develop for Sony this generation. Microsoft still invests in Bungie and will still publish their games. The only difference is that Bungie will own the rights to the properties, do what they want, and make things beyond just Halo.

I dunno, considering the ending to Halo, I can see Bungie returning to Marathon.

yeah, I wouldnt be surprised if they went back to RTS games for a while, back to there Myth roots...although FPS games have always been there bread and butter, from Pathways into Darkness, to Marathon, to Halo...

so here's a question, lets say Halo 3's ending really does lead to a Marathon remake set in the Halo universe...wouldnt that technically make Halo a remake of Pathways Into Darkness, as it was the original pre-cursor to Marathon (first Marathon starts in the last level of Pathways)

You're not trying to kill an Aztec god in Halo though. :csad:
