Reviewing all tweeter feeds and all but positive reaction to BvS. This is amazing to see happen.

I remember MoS was good at first but there were some odd ones in between.

Just like reports, these are overwhelmingly positive.

Those didn't have overwhemlingly good impressions, the only one I can think of was ASM2 and those were like 3 or 4 tweets, this is now on the tens.

Trust me about AOU, I stayed up to look for reactions from the premiere and nearly all of them were positive with a few saying it wasn't as good as the 1st but still good.

I like Grace but she does have some weird nit picking.

If he is pals with Trank then he probably knows the inside story (at least Trank's version) on why the film falls apart at the end. It's really a pretty good picture most of the way and than it just disintegrates.

Fant4stic, for the first two thirds, is a interesting unique take on the F4... until the last third kicks in, and screws everything up so completely and so suddenly, I don't think I've EVER in my life seen a film that falls apart as quickly and as irreparably as Fant4stic did. It's actually quite a sight to behold.

Hey, AoU did very well, actually. Both box office-wise and review-wise. I know it suffered from second looks (rightly, imo). But it was a success.

There's your redflag. I mean, There are a few redflags with this one already (Probably too tease-y, the Knightmare is a bit tacked on, Batman will be controversial) but even those pointing to it have been very positive.

I agree. I didn't mind some of it.... but it's absolutely awful in the last half an hour.

Something about the tone in Grace's voice is just off putting to me. I don't know if she's just not comfortable in front of the camera or what but the way she talks doesn't come across as natural to me.

I really liked the first 3/4 of it. And then like wth happened to the movie. :csad:

Yes, and I actually kind of like it as a curiosity in that way. I think this is a picture that will be studied in film schools for many years to come.

Her voice grates, I can't stand listening to it.

Disney didn't consider it as much of one as the first one was.

The barometer for a sequel is to be more successful than its prequel. The problem is that WOM got to AoU, and stopped the kind of repeat business that "The Avengers" got. Thus, it ended up making less money with a similar budget in the same amount of time. So, I think it's fair to say that, at least for stockholders, it was a bit of a disappointment.

I haven't seen it, but I'm assuming that's where the reshoots mostly live? Whatever movie Trank wanted to make, Fox wasn't too confident in the direction he was going, and he was evidently a terror on-set, making his relationship with the studio a hostile one.

What happens when the studio doesn't trust you? Well, they're literally the money and they have loans to pay back, etc, so when they lose confidence in the picture they go into damage control mode to try to minimize their losses. Maybe it would have been a better picture had they not intervened, but Trank didn't do his job as the leader and instill his bosses with confidence in his abilities. From the sound of things the cast maybe wasn't delighted to be there, either.

Yep. I'm sure Trank's original F4ntastic was very good. Hopefully we'll get it, 30 years from now, like the Donner cut of Superman 2 haha.

Anybody see this?

Hey, it could happen! If it did I might check it out.

I think FOX tried to save the picture when it was clear that it was falling apart.

I think they're very very aware of the public perception of them as a studio back when Rothman was in charge, and have been trying to distance themselves from that regime.

Last I heard, FOX did everything they possibly could to support Trank's vision, including populating the production with people they know and trust who can help stare it along. Once it became clear that the film was a disaster, and that (apparently) Trank's hostile attitude towards the cast and crew was a problem, they took desperate measures to save the film...

Hence what we have now. It sucks, because I like Trank, and I like this post-Rothman FOX... It's just every once in awhile, you lose some.

You guys are acting like AoU was an abomination. A month ago most of us would've killed for BvS to 'only' be as well received as AoU.:oldrazz:

I've been saying this for THREE years on how DC could close the gap with one movie. Good to see somebody say it!
