The biggest Oscar there can get in my opnion be,that there defeat Titanic at the Box office.

The first movie deliever almost $ 976 million, this the final movie and also avaible in 3D. 1,3-1,4 billion already + The movie also get some views with a repeat of the first part and also there going to be a 8 movie marathon.

In The Netherlands with mabey some luck it can be number 1 of 2011, but then should the movie deliever more then $ 23 million to beat a Dutch movie (Gooische Vrouwen) who deliever for 2011 for Avatar be for 2009. Number 2 that's for sjure it going to end atleast with 14-17 million and at the moment POTC 4 have almost 10 million, i expect 12 at the end. The Halfblood Prince be the moost succes Harry Potter in my country with almoost 17 million.

Can any MOD please change the options of the poll to allow multible votes????????

I really think that this final film will be best picture worthy...problem is...the oscars wont ever give a movie like this an award...so they might have costume, cinematography, visual effects...

honestly it might deserve an oscar for every catagory below original score...

but the oscars wont give potter one of the bigger awards.. if they havent recognized potter as an amazing film by now then they wont for this one...

...especially because its a part 1 and 2 movie...same as kill bill

seems like nobody believes this can get Best Picture :(

I loved harry potter part 2 but theres no way its what the academy is looking for in terms of best picture. The past couple years they have been all about these smaller independet movies that noone ever sees outside of die hard movie fanatics and critics.

I can garuntee you not a whole lot of people saw or thought that kings speech was a better movie then social network or slumdog millionaire for that matter.

yeah. as cool as slumdog millionaire was I had never even heard of it until I actually watched the oscars lol.

Really? I remember there being a lot of people seeing it, even colegues of mine that at the time were like 14 years old.

I know alot fo people who never saw it or even cared too, most of the people I knew that saw it thought it was boring or just meh. I personally thought it was way overhyped and even the awards itself went alittle to over the top with all the bollywood stuff.

The last big budget movie to win best picture was return of the king and since then its been smaller budgeted picture. The academy says they want to up the atings so why not let the bigger budgeted, more loved movies actually win from time to time. I still have not seen the kings speech and dont plan too, it just doesnt look that good to me.

i'm not interested in seeing king's speech because it seems boring, still, it seems like a very good film, what i'm more interested in seein is Black Swan, i'm not a fan of ballet but it seems very interesting

It'll be lucky to get nominated for best picture but nearly 0% chance of winning, its going to be a gimme nomination for achievement over the decade.

No, it never had a chance at winning. Even a Best Picture nomination was a long shot at best.

But it would be nice to see the series at least be recognized, which is even looking less and less likely as the awards season labors on.

I think that had Deadly Hallows been only one movie it would have had a bigger chance

I know he's young, but do you think david heyman (i think he was the key producer on every movie) cold get a life time achievement award or something, having been the one consistent driving force behind this franchise.

I don't think it helps that the best film in the series came 7 years ago or that the films lack a unifying vision.

The consistent driving force are the kids. The films varying vastly in style and quality is a problem I would lay at Heyman's feet.

I could see maybe some technical award (like effects), but that's about it. The acting from the main "kids" was always pretty unremarkable, even outright bad at times in the earlier movies. Most of the older, supporting characters were good, but nothing oscar worthy.

Yeah the main 3 kids were kind of choppy acting wise in the earlier films but I think they really grew by the last 3 films and thats what you want to see. It would just be nice to at least see part 2 nominated for best picture to show some recognition on its way out.
