Can I play a dvd while downloading a game?

I'm downloading a game from the PS Store and I'm so tired of just waiting or playing offline modes in other games to pass time,Really sucks we can't download while the console is off like the 360 and I can't remember IF i play a dvd IF it'll stop the download or slow it down a whole lot.

dunno about DVD but I DO know if you play a Blu Ray it DOES sign you out of the PSN network for sure on that but it may do the same for DVD too. All I can say is play a DVD then hit stop if you get a "SIGNING IN" prompt in the upper corner than playing a DVD signs you out too.
