Will we have a new successful franchise, which will be new SW/LOTR /Indiana Jones for us?

I think yes, POTC franchise is going to grow up in saga as a new successful and popular franchise with levels of SW and Indy.

I certainly hope so. The Matrix had potential but fell flat in the long run. I just hope they remember to expand upon Jack Sparrow's character as opposed to just recycling it, otherwise his Keith Richards impersonation could get tiresome and more annoying than endearing.

"Batman Begins" negated the KICKASS Tim Burton films, and didn't follow the comic when it came to important details.

Nope, BB was better than Batman'89 and POTC. Why?

It had excellent script, which was having enough details from comics like Year one and The Long Halloween.

Batman'89 didn't explain the whole story of Batman and there waere enough changes, which didn't have connection with comics.

Bale is Batman.

Even Nicholson didn't look right as Joker.

You are just Burton's fanboy and thats all.

I'm also a fanboy of the comics, where The Scarecrow actually dressed like a scarecrow and had different gasses for different fears (and not just one gas that makes you afraid of everything), Ra's Al Ghul was an Egyptian warlord that was immortal and had Ubu and Taliaat his side, and where Bruce Wayne created all of his gadgets.

And Bruce Wayne's parents were killed at the back of a theater, NOT an opera house.

Scarecrow was more realistic in BB and that worked. Comic book adaptations should not be just papers on screen like Sin Cuty was. They are movies.

Burton made Joker to be killer of Bruce's parents and Nolan changed that stupid thing.

So Burton made even bigger mistake than Nolan.
