TV Cancelled shows of Tomorrow: The War on Chuck Lorre - Part 9

General Television
Time After Time would have been better as a mini-series. But, instead Jack the Ripper's DNA being used to make super-humans..?

Any chance that Powerless will get cancelled anytime soon? Please God say yes.

^I only watched the pilot. It was okay. Did the rest of the show take a dip?

If superstore got renewed I'm sure powerless has a shot.

There were one or two episodes besides the pilot that were okay. The rest have been kinda meh. If it gets renewed, I'd keep watching if only for the pattern that most comedies don't hit their stride until the second season anyway. There are certain exceptions like Modern Family, which was magic in a bottle its first season and it's never been as great since.

It makes me sad that a stupid-ass show like "Imaginary Mary" got greenlit but as someone who enjoys "The Goldbergs", it makes me even sadder that Adam F. Goldberg helped create it. Come on, dude...

It probably ran a full season but the ratings were so bad, they actually invented time travel to go back and cancel it early. The time travel was fairly easy as they'd already researched it for the show. The reason they didn't go all the way back and cancel it before it ever premiered was likely due to a flaw in the time travel technology.

Time After Time wasn't a sustainable plot for a TV series.

Powerless has all but been officially cancelled. It's been pulled from the schedule and website but no official notice yet.

if it hadn't been meddled with, I might have cared enough to watch more than 2 episodes

the original idea sounded tons better than what we got

LOL WHUT

That was a subplot of the show? Good God. Reminds me of this terrible syndicated show from the 90s called The Invisible Man, where this guy was able to gain invisibility powers by injecting himself with Bigfoot's DNA or something.

^Ironically that sounds like a show Fry would watch.

no

it was a manufactured gland that only worked with certain people

and that show was decent for a syndicated partially canadian show

Invisible Man was a great show. Solid chemistry between the cast. And the quicksilvering and other special effects were well done for their time.

Sorry, I only saw bits and pieces of it and I know at least one episode had to do with Bigfoot. But I might be remembering it wrong.

You're right. It was a thing that the gland they put in the guy actually came from a Bigfoot corpse. It was in the second season I think?

Yep. It was the reason why no one could find bigfoot. The species had the gland that would secret the quicksilver.

They harvested that gland and bioengineered it to work in a human brain.

There was just no clear direction where the show was going, it tried to be like 30 Rock but less funny.
