1. Sorry that you don't see a problem with whitewashing a historical event like a World War.

2. Confirmed? How...because they say so? Dozens of scenes have been released. Not one "visual" to confirm what they have told us. Is Cap fighting Nazis or is he fighting HYDRA. An organization that Stan Lee and Kirby created in the 60's, by the way. Which has me scratching my head that it seems they are going out of their way to make this fit into this movie, when they already had the perfect villains for Cap....The Red Skull and Nazis. Why did you even need HYDRA?

3. Don't try to twist this into me liking Swastikas or something stupid, so that you can divert of topic. Even in a movie, I do ask for some respect to he charcater's back story. I want him kickin' Nazi butt! He did it in the comics.....he should do it here.

Who's whitewashing it? They said Nazis are in it, and it is NOT a WWII film! It is a comic book film that takes place in that era. Hydra being the main threat in the film is fine.

What is with some of you and this Nazi thing? They are going to be in the movie! They have to be in the movie! Unless you think the writers are going to try telling us that Hydraland declared war on the United States after Pearl Harbor, not Nazi Germany.

I personally love what they are doing here by having HYDRA start off as a branch of the Third Reich. Alot of the fascination of the Nazi's stems from their advanced technology of the time and the occult connections Hitler supposedly had. HYDRA fits perfectly into that and provides a great foil for Captain America. We don't need to see Red Skull with a swastika to know that he is a Nazi do we?

I really want more responses to this from people who claim that because we don't see swastikas means there are no Nazis. Please.

I was cruising YouTube and came across a movie trailer. Now in this trailer, we see several brief clips of the hero fighting soldiers. Now, since the soldiers we see have no swastikas on them, in fact there is not one swastika seen in the entire trailer, you must all assume, that there are no Nazis in the film and that our hero is in fact fighting some other group of soldiers.

It isn’t. Captain America: First Vengeance is chockfull of Nazis, particularly once we start getting into Johann Schmidt’s origin in chapters 3 and 4. They’re not downplayed. Schmidt runs an organization called Hydra, which starts as a part of the Third Reich power structure, and so therefore they are Nazis.

I dont know....this entire thing isnt about Nazi's to me, it's about useless censorship. That's it. I'm just saying....if Nazi's are apart of the setting...and have to do with the characters, then you have to have them in the film. Not Hydra.

And also, isnt there some interview where it states that Rogers is someone who hates bullies? And I think in the context of the scene, he was also referring to the Nazi's....but now Hydra. Hydra isnt a bully. They're a fraction of the bully. They're like the Bully's best friend. So that idea doesnt work. Needs more Nazi's.

Like I mentioned, doesn't he vaporize some Nazis who try to take his Cosmic Cube? I imagine the High Command has put together this division, this Hydra, put Schmidt in charge, told him to track down these Cosmic Cubes to help their cause, he becomes obsessed with it himself, he finds it and decides he will keep it for himself instead of turning it over to his superiors in the High Command.

Oh please. I'm not saying there are no nazis in the movie. I'd never say that. I just stated, that Marvel/Disney/Paramount did a great job of hiding every single evidenz of 3rd Reich symbols.

How do you know they have done a good job hiding the Nazi stuff? When all we have seen is a 30 second teaser and a handful of images?

Who knows, maybe there is a scene of Schmidt at the High Command actually talking to Hitler?
