just give it up saint you lost

I thought we were having an interesting discussion, not a duel. :oldrazz:

Anyway, I’m looking forward to replying but unfortunately I have to run to give my family a tour of my graduation show right now. :csad: I’ll be back in a couple hours – hopefully not too irritated by their response to my work :cwink:

Goddamnit, everytie I look at the costume I like it a little less. That is goddamn horrible. Holy ****, I hope we don't see much of it in the movie.

By the way, I LOVE reading the intelligent, poignant debates between Saint and Fanatic about this issue- it really deserves its own thread now.

Thank you and well played. Now about this batsuit here. Have we exhausted all possible talking points? I think not. What about his hand-crushing device thingy? Lol. Are you all ok with Batman becoming Bondish in that he relies alot on his gadgets? Clearly Batman in the comics has a formidable arsenal, but what do ya'll think?
I think Batman's always relied HEAVILY on his 'tools', shall we say- just as any architect relies on his to get the job done. Just as a cop requires handcuffs and a gun to do his. But Batman's tools are all just merely dependent on who is making the movie- some want him to rely on his cape(BB), some really want to stress that he uses a grappling hook to launch along the rooftops of Gotham. Some just like the Batmobile- some like an arsenal of bat-transportation. I honestly feel like his most formidable weapon is his skills, and his mind. His detective and his ninja skills, to me- are what makes him superior to any other supehero in that aspect. He kicks ass, and he solves the problem at hand(or crime, whatever the case may be). Hopefully this series doesn't become 007 with a mask- because it almost had that feel in BB when he was running back to Lucious every other scene looking for new toys. I have a feeling that was just to establish the origin of where almost all his bat-utilities came from, and hopefully they won't OD on it in TDK and films to come.

Agreed, but I think that given the fact we already know he goes to Lucious for the new suit gauntlets etc. I have a feeling Lucious will remain Batman's Q. I don't have a terrible time accepting that save the fact that I tend to like Batman to be really a smart guy and be able to make his own equipment. I can understand not being able to build a Batmobile or motorcycle, but for things like the suit I'd have liked to see him acquire that on his own. I think Nolan and co. tried to find a happy medium for this problem with BB. Have him get the main part of the suit from Fox and then tinker/alter it into the final Batsuit. This worked for me, but given the fact that Lucious knows Bruce is Batman I have a feeling he will provide him with a fully fabricated suit this go round.

Are you asking that we stop talking about it in this thread, and start talking about it in that one?

Yes, there is nothing wrong with the debate, it's just no longer about the suit, I know things go off topic now and then, but the depth you guys are going into really needs it's own thread.

Batman's gadgets and tools are his compensation for not having powers. They are necessary to his war on crime.

No problem.

IMO, his mental prowess, detective skills, and fighting repertoire are MUCH MORE important...Any rich tycoon can buy a bunch of complex junk, slap it on himself and run around in a suit...It takes a real genius with a dedication to his cause to do what Batman does...Also, FEAR and intimidation are probably also in his top tier of most useful tools.

I think they are both equally important.

Man, that is excellent work, both the technical quality of the work and the idea behind it.
I would imagine that there would be a lot less argument about the suit if only the "undersuit" part of it was not so texturally (is that a word?) different from the oversuit. If they textures were more similar, it would not be so drastic. (duh).
Anyway, excellent manip.

Happy to comply. *bows graciously*

I have returned from the art show unscathed, and am responding to the last post now…

That's pretty damn sweet. Actually made the original suit grow on me some more, though I still wish the colors were more like this one haha.

Try this out... see if you can make the entire upper body gray, save for the black Bat symbol, and then gray the mesh parts of the arms too(as well as the mesh parts that are inside the gauntlets.)

Posted my off-topic reply in that in-the-middle-of-nowhere thread we are using now =)

But the suit manips really do look sweet. I still can't stand the suit, but as someone who plays with photoshop and knows how tricky it can be, that is a damn good job.

I kind of like the Lucious as Q deal. I don't know why.

Maybe just cause I like Morgan Freeman, heh. And that Nolan seems to be making up for the Q-lessness of the new Bond series (CR was amazing, and I hope QOS is just as good...but I love my Q).

Your welcome. My pleasure. I'm working on getting it made to a wallpaper for my work computer.
By "undersuit", I mean the mesh undersuit that is under the armor. If it was less textured, or textured more like the armor, it would "blend" a little more.
What I really like is the silver plate behind the bat symbol. It's like a re-imagining of the classic yellow oval. With the blue color saturation of the movie, that would actually work pretty good.
The only real complaint I have about the suit at this point (not your manip, but the suit itself) is the mouth opening of the cowl. I think the eye is fooled by how narrow the opening is, giving the illusion of the "egg shape" that people are compaining about. If it opened up to where the cheekbones come down the side of the face, I wouldn't have an issues at all.

Classic comic looks... I think if they had gone with the gray and black for this movie it would've worked very well.
