The Dark Knight Capes and Cowls - New Batsuit Discussion Thread

For the record I like TDK suit, so I don't know where you got the idea my "taste" wouldn't be satisfied till the 4th film. My point was simply "we don't know that this is the last suit Batman will wear, we don't know if this suit will meet EVERY need Batman has for his Batsuit."

WTF...couldn't they make it a bit better looking than that, specially considering this is the ****ing first time we see them on screen? Whats with the botched attempt, it's like they just decided to make it look ugly and throw it in there to silence people who want lenses...

I'm pretty sure that we're just seeing them from the wrong angle here. They look far to wide, but given that his head is tilting down, that will be taking away from the virtical axis . . . hence making them look wider.

Well, to be fair, it's not a full on straight shot, so they'll probably look big regardless. Also, you have to take into consideration the eye sockets on the cowl. They're pretty big, hence, you'll need big lenses for the sockets. And yes, I'm sure they play a small role in the film and are probably there to silence those that want them. But who cares, there will be lenses in the film. At the very least be happy about that.

I don't mind the width so much, it's the round shape, thats why i never liked the big eye holes they always put on the cowl that has to show his skin. If they made it more closed up he wouldn't need black make-up around his eyes and i'd like for them to make it more like the DD lenses were, thin and sort of triangular, if you know what i mean.

I've been trying to find that DD concept art from the movie for ages. The one piece of art where the mask look perfect for Batman, all you have to do is add the ears.

And yeah, lenses look pretty darn goofy in the unaltered Begins/TDK eyesockets. They've gotta be a better shape than that. The DD eye shape is better but still a bit weird - shape just needs to be tweaked a bit.

The lenses are a great shape in the Deadshot segment of Gotham night. And the semi-transparent reflective lenses they went with is the perfect compromise between scary white glowing eyes and being able to see the actor's eyes when needed.

Hey Bunk, if it's do-able would you be able to post a version of this with the lenses gone and the suit restored to the plain Begins one (either emblem?).

Because that would be the best possible looking combination of the 2 suits - TDK head on Begins body, with improved cape (and a smoothed over neck wouldn't hurt, but hell, I'd accept robo-neck if I could get the Begins body back).

Unfortunately, I don't have a copy of Photoshop right now. I've recently transitioned to a new computer and don't seem to have a lot of my files either. I had to go into imageshack just to get that manip.
