The white lens are looking pretty cool. Kinda spoiled myself though when I looked at those photos. But being spoiled has never been this exciting:grin:

Would this have been so hard? Seriously, I question the talent of the costume designers.

Even then, it's still too wide. Those eyes are entirely too huge for that head. Reminds me of those cartoon bugs:

If they wanted lenses, at least make it look good and not half-assed. I would've been just fine without their appearance if I knew they'd do it like this.

Yup, still too wide. They only need to be lenses the size of bale's eyes, maybe a little bigger. Perhaps some kind of black lensing mechanism with a white central unit?

Making the lenses any smaller would limit his peripheral vision. That was one of the problems Ben Affleck had with the helmet in Daredevil. I'm happy with them as is. Again, it only works in comics because we say it works. And this comes from a guy who's drawn Batman.

Smaller lenses would limit his vision, sure. But how do you figure a same-sized black and white colored lens with a smaller "white portion" would limit his vision any more than his vision already is limited when the lenses are not down? And why would that be an issue when he's trying to focus on something via Night Vision?

I really would like to see critics produce better. No photoshop, make a cowl with wearable lenses.

lol i wish this movie would come out already...people cant seem to findanything wrong with it....so they compain about a half a second clip of his lenses. lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllerskatessssssssssssss

The lens look awesome. I sometimes wonder if you guys are trying to ruin the movie for yourselves.

It look really weird, i just can't point my finger on what look the weirdest but it's too goofy/cartoony. They should of had him use a different helmet/cowl if he was going to use the lenses with modified eye socket and perhaps darker lenses, maybe a shade of grey that would make it less stick on like.

The DD artwork above is really cool, but it's not what i was looking for. The artwork was on the official website in the first editions and it was among many other artwork. It was a color drawing with a white background.

I'm pretty sure that we're just seeing them from the wrong angle here. They look far to wide, but given that his head is tilting down, that will be taking away from the virtical axis . . . hence making them look wider.
Yeah, I agree the lense do look too wide

Why should we have to physically produce better ourselves just to prove something can be done? It's been done better (in Daredevil), and anyone can tell just by looking that it could be done better.

But for something fan-made (and not by me) - not the perfect eye shape, but still, not so bug-eyed:

Imagine this full cowl with those same lenses, with a slightly tweaked, more angular shape:

Personally, I wish they just used white contact lenses.

They could have explained it as one of those "vision enhancing contacts" much like those sunglasses that have been released in sports.

Zim is an alien :csad:.

For the record, we're looking at a low resolution, split-second shot of Batman with his sonar lenses on. It's very hard to nitpick, or even actually see, what he actually looks like with them in use.

I'd say that since they seems so round, it's probably brightness emitting from his eyes giving off that effect.

So, so true.

And for the arguments about white and black color lenses - how would that help in not blocking peripheral vision?

Eh, whatever. I'm just highly amused that they actually put in white lenses, after fans had been wanting them for a long time. :funny:

Are we really concerned about his peripheral vision? I don't know how long he'll be wearing these lenses, but it certainly seems like it won't be for very long at all. As far as I'm concerned, Bale can have limited vision for a scene or two if it means better looking lenses.

I don't see why you'd apply real-world problems to that of the film.

The BB suit and cowl prevented hearing as well as horizontal neck turning, yet that didn't stop them from using it in the movie, and not addressing it. What's a hindrance to the actor isn't necessarily a hindrance to Batman.
