Judging by the tv spot it looks like the lense will be the full entire size of the cowl's eye socket. Actually I thought they would look horrible, but honestly I don't think it will look that bad. I mocked these up to see the size. Still big not not bad.

I honestly think it's just that scene which makes the lenses look awkward. From what I'd guess and have seen of the cowl, it doesn't look like it'd be REMOTELY bad. But it looks awkward in that little scene. =/

I honestly never thought of the eyes in the comics as lenses. I always just assumed they were just a part of the creative license and to be interpreted as the criminals' perception of him or something.

ah thank you, I thought i was going a lil crazy there for a moment.

Got to see TDK costume at the Met Exhibit today. It definitely looks completely rubbery in real life, and would not be fun to act in. The cowl especially looks hot and heavy.

Sometimes there definitely are lenses, sometimes there definitely aren't, and other times it could be either. Just depends on who's writing and/or drawing. But in most current/modern comics it's pretty much a given that he has lenses, unless explicitly depicted otherwise (like Alex Ross or Lee Bermejo's versions for example).

Also, sometimes the eyes are white when the cowl is not being worn, in which case there must be lenses.

I think Bale said the suit was around 70 pounds but with all the ventalation it makes it easy to breath in and move around I'm just hoping that the next one makes Batman change into a move fabric like suit but if it doesnt TDK suit ftw its the best Bat suit ( movie wise )

The bat lenses look similar to the dark knight anime lens designs imo.

the lenses looks like someone went in with photoshop and edited it frame by frame

Those photos should be shopped to include the following quote:

"What has been seen, cannot be unseen!"

Lenses look lame IMHO.

Lenses complaints make me LOL. Typical that many of the problems with modern Superhero movies is stupid fair weather fan opinions of what is cool and what sucks.

well I don't care about lenses if it just visually looked good. That shot makes me not want lenses. Lenses probably could be cool but from what we have seen I am not liking it.

He looks too much like an alien or something with lenses because the eye holes are round and the scowl comes from the the brow of the cowl. In the comics his eyes are shaped like he's scowling so the lenses work better.

I never liked the idea of lenses since I think the eyes are too useful as tools of expression. But if he uses them temporarily I can deal with it.

I am not a big fan of the lenses myself to be honest, but it's not he'll be using them the whole movie.

That's exactly why Batman doesn't often wear lenses on screen, Spiderman's mask is always getting ripped off in the most dramatic moments and Cyclops fails as a movie character.

No you don't. Because Portman was more the lead in that movie anyway AND part of the point of the character was that he was hiding even from the audience. Wondering who or what was behind that mask was a piece of the story.

I am not saying that V was the lead. However he was still able to convey large amounts of emotion through his actions and tone of voice. The identity was a mystery however he still was able to let the audience gather their own impression.

So as I said before... I win.

No, I win, because... I win.

What does "EFG" mean?
