I'm guessing rotten, but hopefully not too rotten, like in the 50's

That would be a first for a MCU film, as Eternals/Quantumania were below 50%. I would have thought Mcu's first rotten movie would be close to the RT rating of X-Men 3 (57%). Even The Amazing Spider-Man 2 got a higher rating (50%).

My bet on 69. It should be better than Marvels but not that much. Also since many have made up their mind about this before the release, the critics will be self fulfilled prophecy even if it is decent to good. Also I like that number.

69 for a MCU film is simply not good. Though I would be surprised if it reaches that number. The Marvels and Love/Thunder scored somewhere in the 60s, and they aren't viewed really well, post-release. Multiverse of Madness (72) is a bit divisive from the people that saw it. And of course there's Eternals/Quantumania.

Judging the lukewarm reaction from the critics, I'm guessing this ends up somewhere around 72% - 76%.

I think that would be a win. The reshoots and long delay, made me cautious. I'm not excited for this so I didn't watch it today. I'll be waiting til Sunday to watch it with other people.

I'm going tomorrow with two friends that are generally a lot more lenient with MCU projects than I am, so maybe they can whip me into some kind of excitement beforehand lol.

I fully expect it to be rotten. I could maybe see it ending up in the early 60s but that's about it.

See, Disney/Marvel Studios didn't delay this movie and went through extensive reshoots, if they didn't they realize this wasn't good enough. And we have the reviews now.

This early... I think this is easily going to be the worst reviewed Mcu film to date.

I mean yeah. That looks about right from everything we've seen and heard since production first began.

How many times was this thing rewritten and reshot? Why are so many of the antagonists from the Hulk's catalogue? You just get a sense that they had no idea what they really wanted to do with this character and this story, and instead decided that this would be a vehicle to tie up loose ends from other movies. Marvel has all but completely lost its personality at this point.

47% Brave New World (64 reviews)
47% Eternals (416 reviews)
46% Quantumania (411 reviews)

Im going to see it with an open mind. There is some weird opinions out there about it. Some really liking it some not! So best thing is to make your own mind up

Metacritic
52 Eternals (62 reviews)
48 Quantumania (61 reviews)
44 Brave New World (35 reviews)

It also has a 44/100 metascore. Unsurprisingly it's really shaping out to be by far the worst received MCU movie to date.

Without seeing the RT rating and just reading the early impressions I was also inclined to think like this. 60’s was also my first guess. It’s on the 40’s already and there’s only a fraction of the reviews which is almost never a great sign.

I guess we shouldn’t be surprised after all.

Ouch! I didn't have any predictions, but I at least thought it would start off in the 60s.

Unfortunate but not surprising. Again, I’m not expecting any results from Marvel’s 2023 wake-up call until Fantastic Four.
