During the 1990’s Marvel had an animation agreement with Saban Entertainment that produced such shows as Silver Surfer and the X-Men the animated series. One of the shows in development was also a Captain America series. The talented Will Meugniot, was brought in to create the look and feel of the new show. Meugniot maybe better known to comic book fans as one of the creators of DNAgents with Mark Evanier.

The show was to be set during World War 2 but not feature Nazi’s as the villain but the Red Skull as the main antagonist. Which seems to be splitting hairs as the Skull is a Nazi. Bucky would also have been featured for the first time ever in a cartoon series. And the cast was to be rounded out with a team of commandos. Most of whom seemed to have technology that doesn’t fit with times.

The animation's not bad, but the end of the 90's in general were hardly the golden era of Marvel animation. After SPIDER-MAN and X-MEN ended in 1997-1998, it was the pits until the year 2000.

Ah, the 90's animation. So much eye pleasing than today's 'bright as hell' animation. Hell, I love the animation and colors on DBZ.

Didn't....well, ok, forgot that Marvel had legal troubles back in the day. How they get out of it?

After someone bought them and ran them into ground toybiz bought them for cheap.

Maybe the success of the X-Men and Spider-Man movies helped them out a bit.
No, Marvel sees like zero dollars from those movies. After selling the film rights years and years ok back in the 80s.

Like Spider-Man was almost made by Canon in the 90s in North Carolina. Thankfully it was turned into Cyborg.

At least Captain America appeared in the Xmen series , that was a good episode. I wish they had done the Avengers as well.

And Masters of the Universe 2 sets were used for Cyborg as well. :o

It looks nice, but is hardly the nicest looking for Marvel. X-Men was a great show but that too had pretty uneven and sometimes truly bad art.

I think the best looking Marvel shows so far have been X-Men Evolution and the latest version of Spider Man.

Even the animation for Wolverine and the X-Men looks great. I'd love to see Cap and the Avengers in that style of animation. Let's just say I love the look of Wanda in that series. :D
