Casino Royale scores 100% on RT

And to think....all this by the guy who made The Legend of Zorro.

Yeah Goldeneye was a great Bond movie. These reviewers are loving Craig.

He also made THE MASK OF ZORRO, which was like 100x better than Legend Of Zorro.

i agreee, directors can have hits and misses people... casino royale could be his best ever....

Hmmm,I'm getting ever so interested. :)

I saw a review in my local paper for CR, they said Craig is amazing but (sorry XW2) Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen) was poor.

Not long to go now.

it's not at all uncommon for a movie to have 100% on RT when only a few reviews are in. Still, it's a very positive indicater.

i think what Craig has over most of the other Bonds(Dalton, Lazenby, Moore & Brosnan) is actually his looks. He looks like a working class labourer, which gives him a thugish appearance. When you put this in a dinner jacket you get what Fleming described,'Ruthless, cold, hard, sardonic, fatalistic.....a thug in a dinner jacket'.

It makes for a much more interesting contrast than say, Brosnan, because the only thing Brosser had in common with the literary Bond is his black hair imo. Craig is full of contradictions.

Most of which is better and more watchable than Vertical Limit, X-men 3, and The Legend of Zorro.

She didn't get crap.

Sad, but later it will go down.

I think 75-80% will final result.

Interesting points......and really valid ones. Craig does look like the type of guy to get down and dirty....it's got to be his best attribute, look-wise,.

not necessarily, the reviews that are in are from a few reputable sources, not just joe-shmoe websites. Borat also had 100% with the first 12 or so reviews, and ended at 92%

even in a worst case (realistic) scenario, it's doubtful it will go below 70% at the end, and I'm willing to bet even higher. Above 70% on RT is usually pretty damn good.

But keep in mind RT breaks it down to simple positive or negative reviews. The reviews in so far are not just simply positive - they're glowing. The word "Best" is used in more than a few of those reviews, and that's a trend you can expect to continue

Just saying, I don't think this is that impressive a rating with so reviews in.

If the number stays close to that level after a lot more reviews can come in then I can say that's impressive. Like Spider-man 2 was one of the best reviewed movies of 2004, even from critics that normally dislike Hollywood blockbusters. Ebert proclaimed that the movie should've been nominated for best picture but it wouldn't due to the "snobbery" of voters. For Ebert to say something like that about comic book superhero movie is pretty bold.

Bond movies in many ways helped pioneer the modern blockbusters.

No question. The modern blockbuster is a combo of Bond and Star Wars.

It's at 91% on the Unofficial Tomatometer, with 10 positive and 1 negative review(s).

But still, 10 positives out of 11 reviews isn't bad at all.
