Based on Some of Nathan's old avatars, I decided yesterday to buy Casshern and watch it blind..

it was a really good movie but i didn't get it all (surprise surprise)...

I dont get if the Neroids are actually ressurected dead humans, how come their bodies didn't explode like Tetsuya's was apparently going to do and hence the requirement of his body suit.

I also don't get those big bolts of lightening and what they are supposed to represent.

Also why midnight/midday was a significant time to make that robot explode and how tetsuya managed to also survive that explosion.

I also don't get how his bird Yula managed to come back from the dead. I thought it may have been because she became a Neoroid but that only meant she would have exploded much earlier in the film...

can anyone shed some more light on this, it was a really good film but some parts of it just make it harder to me to enjoy completely.

Dunno. I've seen it twice and still don't get it. I don't even like it. Too much melodrama. Fighting -> Crying -> Fighting -> Crying. Blah.

i feel like i'm watching akira and neo genis evangelion all over again...

I love Cassshern like another man might love his religion or his wife.

Has this gotten a R1 release? Because I might rent it on netflix over the break, since I've heard Kevin and other mention it frequently on the boards...

I've watched it about four or five times and read everything I could find about it on the net. I'd guess 80% of it makes sense to me.

I had an idea of what the movie meant for a while, then I forgot.

Very moving movie, none the less.

They are pretty much the parts i dont understand either NR, especially Yuna coming back to life. Not sure whether she drank some of the blood of the Neoroid she helped a couple of times though. I seem to remember toward the end when thay Neoroid is dying, Yuna's hand was blood stained, and the Neoroid moved it towards her mouth.

Its a good movie, just too confusing and not enough explanation in parts

;)

It was FINALLY released in the US on Oct 16th.

you can pick it up at your local blockbuster :)

It was cool first time I watched it months ago. I've had the DVD about 2 weeks now and not opened it yet so I've gotta get on that rewatch before I can answer. I watched the movie because I liked the cartoon "Casshan: Robot Hunter."

Unfortunetly the Region 1 disc is barebones. No features at all.
