The initial idea of the League before V1 of the comic came out I think is what the first film tried to capture. Even with the first issue of the League in V1 it sort of seemed to evolve or devolve depending on how one looks at it into something straying away from the original notion of a JLA from classical literature.

Any assemblage of classical characters such as this I think might as well give it a different title and be it's own thing even if rights can be obtained to pre-Black Dossier stories.

As far as castings go I think Kate Beckinsale looks pretty much exactly like Mina as drawn in the comic and even has that steely proper personality. She has an ageless/timeless look that I think would translate over to Mina. That's the only casting I can think of different right now.
