Cast the MCU X-Men/Fantastic Four

Rugged is not how I would describe Kit Harington.
His beard makes him ruggedly handsome which is what Logan can look like. He's a great actor, has the right build, he's young and he's short. Why not him?

He's a bit too dreamboaty I think. He can't do feral.

Jackman was hot to a certain type of person but he could also do feral. To be honest I wouldn't mind stepping away from the Jackman mold and going for a full greaser

How do you know Kit can't do "feral"? That's like saying Jackman pre-X1 couldn't be animalistic because none of his roles prior called for it. A good actor can morph into into any needed characteristic for any role.

I've seen Kit in a couple of movies and I see the potential for a great Wolverine in him. If not him, Christopher Abbot and Joe Dempsie (another GOT actor) could be good candidates as well

interesting point... never really thought of the group dynamic of these teams being that similar that they could be interchangeable like that...

wonder if it works both ways...?

would say, the O5 cast I posted a while back be a better fit for F4?

been struggling to put together a decent F4 fan-cast, seeing this got me thinking maybe I already made a F4 cast, an it's my X-men cast I need to being rethinking...

I haven't really thought about it before either, but there are definite similarities. There's the serious-minded, somewhat socially-awkward leader, the strong, passionate woman who's also the relatively normal one, the immature jokester and the big, witty guy who gets turned into a freak but mostly handles his condition with courage and good humour.

I'm not familiar with Douglas Smith but the rest of your choices do feel like they could work in either franchise. Jean and Sue require very similar qualities from an actor. As do Bobby and Johnny. Hank and Ben are a bit trickier. Ben's blue collar masculinity is quite different from Hank's academic geekiness. A good actor could do either and from what I've seen and heard Banjamin Walker seems to be a promising actor.

Come on now. I've seen Pompeii. He can do dreamy but not a whole lot else. Thats fine, he does dreamy very well

exactly... tho not sure who the Angel equivalent in F4 would be? or Professor X for that matter lol

he's in that new show, the Alienist, but he kinda only has a smaller supporting role so far, and hasn't really had enough screen time to judge him by yet in that, but still... was trying to think out side the box on that one (suggesting someone I thought might be an interesting up in comer, with him being in a new show, that was just coming out) still to soon to tell, I guess

agree about Walker being a fit for Ben, over Hammer not sure who/if anyone in F4 he would fit?

A beard alone doesn't make you rugged, and he does not fit the traditional definition of the term ruggedly handsome. Yeah sorry, just don't see it.

A lot of people are good actors. Plus, Wolverine has those savage, feral anger qualities, which I've never really seen Harington display. IMHO it's not inspired casting and sounds like miscasting more than anything. It just seems like casting based on he's one of the central male leads for a hit fantasy show that's on TV now.

Angel and Xavier don't really have counterparts in the F4. I guess some of their qualities can be seen. Johnny is a flying, blonde playboy and Reed has the tendency to lecture his teammates like their were his students. Although Reed can't really be called a mentor figure which is what Professor X so clearly is.

I can't really think of a role for Hammer. Maybe someone like Black Bolt or Ronan The Accuser (If they weren't cast already) but no one from the core characters.

I really like the idea of Mark Strong and Daniel Craig as Xavier and Magneto but that’s probably too close to McAvoy and Fassbender.

Colin Salmon for professor x, and David Morrissey for magneto.

I think my preference would be for Marvel to update his origin and change his ethnicity, but if they want to stay the course, Craig is actually a decent pick.

Too bad Scott Eastwood cant act cause he would actually make a good wolverine appearance wise.

I suggested Zach McGowan for Geralt in the Witcher Netflix thread but I think he could make a decent Wolverine.

christopher_abbott.jpg

Christopher Abbott for Wolverine. Short + cheaper and a much better actor than Harington.

I'd also potentially be interested in Jonathan Tucker, although I'm still trying to decide whether or not he has the chops.

Tucker just doesn't much have that wolverine look. But abbott could be groomed to look like logan

Zach McGowan for Sabretooth (his black sails co-star) Luke Arnold for Wolverine

 Abbott is a really good choice. He was great in It Comes At Night. With the hair and chops, he'd look exactly like Logan.

And how about Hannah Murray for Jean?

She's 28 but she looks much younger. Could easily play an early to mid twenties Jean

I kind of emotionally have my heart set on him playing Geralt of Rivia, but who knows how likely that is. Not sure how likely it is for him to get a plum Marvel role. Plus, he already played that Russian baddie on Agents of SHIELD.
