Whats wrong with Jean? she was perfect as her, dont blame her for the writers crappy writing, find a better jean with better acting skill as Famke (highly doubt it) and ill give you a cookie. the majority of the fans agree that she has to stay is why i didnt change her, i think youre alone on that one, half of the guys espeacialy storm & gambit were picked because the majority of the fans kept bringing them up, im waiting for your list of mediocre actors though :P

Why is everyone so insistent on seeing Gambit played by vapid prettyboy actors instead of guys who have genuine charisma?

My thoughts exactly, some dudes in another forum were picking models and crap for christ sakes, some kept bringing up Megan fox as rogue ( LOL ) people who have never acted a day in their lives and people who can't act lol, i swear ive heard some choices so bad before i wonder why everyone gets mad at fox for casting the films how they did, when most of the fans can't even pick a half decent cast Taylor was fine for the origins movie though as a younger gambit, but older? not so much

But they do the same thing with Storm sadly, most are so convinced storm must be some young hot teen, ive seen people name keke palmer as storm (a teenage singer) others Beyonce & Rihanna ( LOL ) and several other singers that had no qualities of storm what so ever, they lacked the strong african looks, the strong voice, and the acting skill

And don't get me started on Emma, Overly plastic surgery looking Pamela anderson blondes is what most pick that cant act for **** lol, most also pick models for her role lol

And i cant believe people are actualy arguing over height, oh Angela bassett is this height, oh wolverine is too tall! are people honestly for casting someone with what they think is 'Proper height' over talent ? if thats the case i agree with the poster a few pages back, i'll put my faith in FOX over the fans lol, and to the people arguing over age, Halle berry is in her 40's mmk, older actors play teenagers in highschool dramas all the time c'mon, it doesnt matter what age they are, if they look the part if they look young enough to pass for the part, there should be no problem

Okay, since you asked in teh Poison Ivy thread, here's my opinion on it.
I'm breaking it up in sections though and I'm giving my opinion as if it was Marvel Studios starting fresh with the franchise and not god awful Fox continuing with theirs.

So save for Gina Torres, you kept the choices from Fox, which other than Patrick Stewart, are easily replaceable and should be in a new movie. I also think Stewart should be replaced, but can't think of anyone else. At least Fox got him spot on. As for Gina Torres, I like it, she's my choice for Storm in a new X-Men movie as well.

Kelsey Grammar has the same prob as Patrick Stewart as I said above; Perfect casting, wrong studio to make the movie with. Holloway is a terrible choice for Gambit and should really stopped being mentioned because of his supposed "acting" on the show Lost. I totally dig Dushku as Rogue, again one of my castings for a new X-Men movie. I liked Cumming as Nightcrawler, but again, if I were in charge of casting a new movie, I'd be picking all new actors. I don't think Charisma is the right fit for Emma. And Gerard Butler is not a good choice for Havok at all; He's still too much of a flavor of the week actor.

Chris O'Donnel as Iceman, I don't know. I've never been too impressed with him and he's not quite how I envision Iceman. Dominic Purcell is an interesting choice, I find that Colossus is a really hard character to cast, so I can sorta see it. Ellen Page didn't impress me as Kitty, she can act, but she isn't how I envision Kitty either. Kea Wong, I don't really know much of her work, so can't really comment on that, but again I'd want fresh actors, and I'd go for Brenda Song in this role. Jude Law is an interesting choice for the role of Angel, which I can see working fairly well.

Kate Beckinsale is a terrible actress, hence no to her as Psylocke. I love Amy Adams, but she's too sweet and innocent to portray Polaris. I know she's an actress and its her job to act, but unless she changes her voice dramatically and tones down her movement, I just don't see her working as Polaris. I don't quite think NPH works for Northstar either, in terms of looks mainly, acting he's ok, but I'd have to see more of his work to really have an opinion on him. Morris Chestnut is good casting, I'm just not a fan of the character Bishop. McKellen is in the same vein as Stewart and Grammer; Can't think of another actor for Magneto though.

Phillipe is more of a Havok to me in terms of casting, though I guess I could see him as Quicksilver as well. Amy Acker as Scarlet Witch; I'm really having mixed feelings about this, I mean I love Acker, and I believe she can do the role great, but something in the back of my mind isn't sure. Sean William Scott is an interesting, original choice for Pyro, which I can actually see working well. Recasts for Mystique, Sabretooth and Toad though.

I'm guessing you're going the X-Men Evo route with Avalanche, as would I with the character. I can sorta see Somerhalder as the role, but I think there would be other actors better suited for the role. Juggernaut should is another in the Stewart/Grammar camp for me; Jones to me was great casting, but the script and costume needed work. Kevin Durand, I've never seen his work, but I see he's playing Blob in Wolverine, so recast for me there as well. I loved Kelly Hu as Deathstrike, but for a new X-Men movie, I'd go with Maggie Q. Julian McMahon, though I love him on Nip/Tuck, he just doesn't work in comic movies for me. I do like Fishbourne as Apocalypse. I hate the character of Deadpool and I find Ryan Reynolds annoying. With Lynn COllins, it's the same as Kevin Durand for me.

For Forge, I know Benjamin Bratt was a popular choice forever ago, nowadays I don't know really. I wasn't too interested in his character that much.
I hate Cable, and feel he shouldn't be introduced anywhere outside the comics and that his existence in the comics should be erased.
And you have Kea Wong as Jubilee abov.

Gina is almost like the Cuban version of Angela in terms of looks and shes done an african accent on a show before. Also Angela(maybe Halle Berry's height) is short in comparison to Gina who has height on her which gives her an authorative presence on stage. (refers to Firefly/Serenity).Also she is 10-12 years younger than her.

These are all qualities of a good Storm but both are really too old for a reboot imo anyway. If we were talking 2000 X-Men Angela and Gina would have been superiror choices to Halle. Gina would be my first only because of height but id give it to Angela second because even those shes the same height as Halle, her acting would make up for her somewhat small presence.

Famke was really good imo, just kinda old for most peoples tastes. thats the only reason Ive been seeing. Although I do agree she looks good for her age I do think the could have picked somneone younger maybe 30-35 at the time of the first film.

JESUS CHRIST why are there so few young angelas with strong african looks out there!?!?, storm is like the most difficult, storm & rogue are both equaly difficult to cast

When it all balls down, anyone can find an actor or actress that looks the part, being able to act it is a different story, example, Megan Fox would make the perfect rogue, give her some green contacts and you got yourself a twin......but she can't act for ****, thats the problem......and thats why i think Famke was perfect as Jean, she maybe a little older but i honestly dont think a current red head actress could top Famke




Hell shes a knockout, i would have guessed Famke was in her early 30's little did i know she was 42, she looks stunning 0___0

And for christ sakes why is everyone casting these dudes with black hair as iceman, wth dudes wth? lol.......christ you might as well go ahead and say Robert pattinson as iceman since those are the guys people are casting as him, if thats the case i'll stick with shawn, atleast his hair is blond-ish

Absolutely NOTHING is wrong with Jean Grey, but everthing is wrong with Famke right now had she been younger, yes, but now? No she was barely acceptable for the first movie! She looks too old and I am not alone on that, I loved her as Pheonix in X3 she looked and was great she was one of the few great things about the movie, but if we are rebooting the X-Films there is no need to keep her.
If this were 2000 I would have cast Kate Winslet she looks more like Jean then Famke and is an great actress, so you can keep your cookie.

And if they were rebooting now I would have cast Scarlett Johanssen, but she's The Black Widow now so...

But she would have made a pretty good Jean
And If you look around you'll find that I've posted who I think should play certain characters in different post, and almost none of them are mediocre IMO.
I do however agree with you on Gina Torres she doesnt look like Storm to me either, but she is a good actress. I kind of like Aisha Tyler though too.

Im not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure Keke Palmer was an actress before she was a singer as her first CD came out in 2007 and she was in movies before then. And as far as lacking acting skill go read reviews of her performance in 'Akeelah And The Bee' or go watch it yourself she does not lack acting skill thats evident in some of her other movies as well. And I think the reason people may suggest her in the role of Storm is because in "First Class" Storm and the others are supposed to be teens or so thats what Lauren Shuller Donner the producer has said.
