Why not? Kevin Spacey would be an Xavier more remenisant of Xavier in the animated series, with an actual AMERICAN accent. (Xavier is from New York, not The UK)

Brandon Routh has gotten huge since Superman Returns, he is seriousley jacked. Bigger than Daniel Cudmore even and he has proven he can play the meat and potatoes, cornfed boyscout, and thats what Peter is. He is somewhat shy and boyish, just like Brandon Routh was in Superman Returns.
And since Routh can act, I imagine he would actually speakin in a *GASP*
Russian accent.

Aside from that, your choices aren't THAT bad. The ones on the first few pages are dreadful. I liked Kerry Washington for Storm originally too but she's too short and imposing at 5'4.

Ironically, she was actually in some movie with Brandon Routh.

Routh has done 2 comic book movies already, Ben Foster has done like 3, Chris Evans plays a different super hero every other year (Fantastic Four, TMNT, Push), and Samuel L. Jackson was has played many, many super heroes AND super villains in movies like Unbreakable, Jumper, The Incredibles, Ironman, The Spirit, and ect.

But lets just say he is no longer involved with Superman, he is the perfect candidate. Large, muscular, still young looking with a honest wholesome demeanor.

well 1, kevin spacey is no charles Xavier... i think the majority of us would agree with that, not to mention he kinda looks ridiculous bald.

2, brandon routh is a horrible actor, and his build is nothing, nor could it ever be like colossus's

3, animated movies don't really count considering it's just there voice

4, just because an actor is in a sci-fi movie involving people with powers, doesn't necessarily mean it's a superhero movie either.

I would agree that Spacey wouldnt be right for Prof X. His acting style just isn't right for the role, even if he is a great actor...regardless of him not doing Hollywood films anymore.

Brandon Routh's new build may be good, but he's Superman. Marsden didn't play two big name comicbook superheroes.

There's no way Brandon would take any other superhero role (with Marvel of all places) with his alliegence to Warners and DC.

If it's a reboot with a new cast, you'd have to.

Stewart is too tied to the original trilogy (and his character is dead) = unless he returns in the form of that body he transferred into... but that would be an X4 sequel.
