With Nolan influencing Superman, we definitely won't be getting any of the Super sidekicks; Superboy, Supergirl, Krypto etc

YES!

I think if any Super sidekick has a shot it's Supergirl.

And if she shoulkd show up, Ashley Benson is perfect for it

You dont think SG has a better shot at a movie appearance than Conner or Krypto etc?

True she's 20 now, maybe dye her hair and have her be MJ in the reboot, or stay blonde and be Gwen in the Spidey reboot

I think there is too much backstory to go along with Conner (clone of Superman/Lex, Death of Superman, etc) to fit into a new film. If I could choose between the "Super sidekicks," it would be him, though.

Well obviously SG has a better shot, but that being said.. given how Nolan told Robin to piss off, I'm very skeptical him and his people will be down for introducing Supergirl.

I think we're bound to get Superman as a standalone member of the \S/ family, no sidekicks.

I know Diane Nelson desperately wants a female superhero film, but it seems it will be WW.... eventually.

i dont see why they wouldnt down the road want to include characters like supergirl and all that. But after we have had a new established superman series.

The whole "no sidekicks" thing is really the one thing Nolan is doing that pisses me off. Robin is a HUGE part of the Batman mythos and can be done very well. In fact, especially with the modern age Tim Drake Robin stories, I have never found him to be campy or too childish at all.

^ agreed. i love what he's done with the batman movies so far. but i hate that he is limiting himself so much by excluding all of batmans "family". i can see where Dick and Bab's may be difficult to retool to fit nolans world. but i've always though Tim and Cassandra would be great fits in the nolanverse

1) I agree that the exclusion of the Bat family is pretty messed up
2) Why is everyone assuming that because Nolan is somewhat involved with the new Superman that its going to be a repeat of the Nolan Batman in ways

YES!
I dont want him to have any sidekicks, but the arrival of Supergirl in the comics is a very big deal to him because he stops feeling so alone on earth. I'd like to see that explored.
Also, Krypto is awesome!

Agreed.

I'm not saying that. I think Nolan is intelligent and talented enough to know what fits where. If they do go "darker" with the Superman movie, I believe it will only be in terms of the villains. Make Lex Luthor a ruthless, manipulative genius, and not so much a campy dude obsessed with real estate. Zod could be very similar to the Superman 2 version, just show him destroying everyone and everything that gets in his way. Nothing silly like putting his face on Mount Rushmore, even though I thought that was hilarious and awesome. Plus you have Doomsday, Metallo, Brainiac, etc. There is plenty of room to make the villains dark and intimidating without taking away from Superman.
