Cats or Dogs?

I've recently come to the conclusion that I am neither a dog person or a cat person. I've met both dogs and cats that I've absolutely loved and I've met both dogs and cats that I couldn't wait to get away from. But I will say that cats get a really bad rap. Most of the cats I've met have been very friendly. The difference is that unlike most dogs, cats will let you know when they don't want to be bothered, which I can respect.

You won’t catch me owning either (more of an aquarium person), but I think cats are fascinating and beautiful creatures.

I grew up with dogs, have cats and fish now. Also kept the occasional frog... It's not an either/or thing.

Yeah they are both awesome pets to have. I really want a fishtank too. Have looked many times but been too busy to put enough thinking into it to pull the trigger.

All the dogs I've had dealings with have never wanted to not be bothered lol. Even 24 hours of strokes isn't enough. My cats are the same (they are totally like dogs as I mentioned before). I can't sit down at all anywhere without being mobbed within a second. :D

I like to walk my dogs. You can't walk cats. They run into the street and only come when you call if they feel like it. I've had a lot of both. They are both lazy.

When my GF and I move in with each other in the not-to-distant future, we'll be getting a dog together, that will complete our own 'family' as such. Can't wait. We have a name already in Barkly and he / she will be a rescue dog.

LOL. When I first read this, I thought you said "Barky". That's not a good name for a dog BTW.

My dogs are from left to right

Shortstop (girl)
Screwy Louie Bear (boy)
Clyde Einstein (boy)

We recently had to have their mom put to sleep. She was almost 15 and had serious heart, liver, and kidney issues. We tried medications, but evidently heart and kidney problems work sort of in reverse. You want less water in your body if you have heart issues and you want more water with kidney issues. We had her since she was 8 weeks and miss her so much. :csad::csad::csad:

Here's a picture of her in better times.

My aunt had a Pomeranian when I was a kid. Didn't really want to be bothered with anyone other than my aunt. There was one time I went over to pet her and she growled and nipped at my hand. I never did anything to antagonize it either. From that day onward, I didn't want to have anything to do with the damn thing. :o

I had a neighbor who did that too. He even took it for a walk one rainy afternoon and told me that the cat wouldn't let him rest unless they went out.

OK. I’ll concede that some cats will be walked. That being said, I’ll never understand why people eat chocolate.

Cats are chill and clean up after themselves. They're also fun to watch.

I have alot of bad memories with my dog barking during inopportune times and getting diarrhea all over the house.

So yeah, cats easily.
