Channing Tatum is Jackie Estacdo in "The Darkness"

Exactly. It would definetly be a very hard pg-13 if they go that route, which I hope they dont.

It's gotta be rated r for me. I liked the nightmarish tone of the game. If the film was a straight up adaptation of that I'd be happy. I loved the parts where he was back in the trenches of WWI. If they have those scenes they wouldn't feel as horrific and powerful if it was PG-13.

Plus I wanna see the Darklings biting the hearts out of victims. That was awesome in the game.

It's not really that weird.

American movie studio's think the Asian style is too ****ed up for western audiences. They take away the individuality of the directors, which is ironic because that must of been what got them noticed in the first place.

American movie studio's only give freen reign to those who are guaranteed to make money whether it's crap or not. That's not just Fox, like some people seem to think, but all studios.

True dat

That's exactly the way I feel. I don't think Topcow would dumb it down just so the kiddies can watch.

And after watching A Guide to Recognizing our Saints I'm offically okay with Channing Tatums casting. He was seriously fantastic in that movie where he played a gagster New York City kid. Seriously I was shocked at how good he did. So maybe he isn't as bad as we all think.

Yeah, i heard he was good in that movie. ANd I heard he's actually pretty good in G.I. Joe too.
He snt the best choice, but I'm sure he will be decent.

Whoa, I just noticed that both him and his wife are playing Top Cow characters. And both interlock with Witchblade!

I highly recomend AGtRoS it has one of my favorite actors Robert Downey Jr. and the hot as hell Rosorio Dawson too! The movie even had Shia Lebeouf in it and he did a good job too. It was a great movie with a great cast in there respective roles.

Yeah Noticed that too. It seems like Dewan either persuaded him or he just got interested in it because of her involvement with the Mags movie.

I don't think he was that great he was alright in the role. I don't think the guys the worst actor either despite what folks are saying. I think there are a lack of young leading american actors around at the moment either that or they are not getting cast.

Probabley too many prretty boys around without the acting talent to back it up like Johnny Depp or Brad Pitt ect have.

I agree Chamber. There is just a lack of really great young American talent out there at the moment I think.

You got a load of good looking young guys, but very few of them have the actual chops to back it up.

But I'm not gonna diss Tatum too much, I've only seen a couple of his films. He was cast by Oliver Stone in his now dead (or is it?) Vietnam film Pinkville. And Stone obviously has a eye for talent, giving the likes of Depp their big breaks.

Emile Hirsch, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Ben Foster and Jake Gyllenhaal are the only four American male actors under 30 that really impress me at the moment.

And none of them have a really tough guy persona IMO.

I agree Johnny has always been talented but Brad Pitt? He sucked and I mean sucked in most of his work (especially in the begining of his career) until recently he wasn't really good at all IMO. I think your giving him to much credit.

Honestly, I dont think he sucks, but he isnt as good as people make him out to be.

Yeah I just get sick of people thinking he's always been a really good actor and he's hasn't and he made so many **** films before he got big.

Has anyone ever heard of a film called "Cutting Class?" Unfortunately, I have... It wasn't even good for a campy horror movie and a paper bag would have had more charisma. Everyone acts like he was always a good actor and he wasn't.

Yeah, I never found him to be that great.

Yeah deffinately overatted at best IMO.

The problem these days is no one can make small films, mostly because there are fewer films being made in general, that test their acting abilities so ****** actors, like Brad Pitt, can make a lot of ****** films and learn from their mistakes and grow. Now there are only franchise cash cow films being made because they will turn over the greatest profit and that seems to be all the film companies care about these days.

Also there seems to be a lose of aninimity because there are websites like IMDB that keep track of the bad films actors have made.

I just feel like people don't give actors credit like the Emile Hirschs or the Emily Deschanels and even to a lower extent the Channing Tatums and Marlon Wayans that at least tried in their careers to attempt quite films and do good in them.

Sorry for the rant I just had to get that out.

Sorry but a PG-13 rating would just be a giant "**** you" to the fans of not only the comic but the video game as well.

Agreed. Without an R-rating, we wouldn't be able to have a gritty and very violent film, which the Darkness would need to be faithful, imo.

No man, let it out! Lol, I feel the same way.

And what I HATE is when people dont know the difference between a good movie and a bad movie.

Like, I heard people literally say that Fast and The Furious and Transformers are the BEST movies ever.
Are they bad? No, they're fun.
Are they good? Eh, not really.

When I tihnk of a great movie, it has to involve story, visuals, acting etc. Not just car chases and big explosions.
Do I like those sort of things? Of course I do, who doesn't? They're fun movie with hot chicks, but to say they are some of the best movies? Yea,h far from.

All subjective. The kid from the inner city may find Friday to be the best flick ever and think something like Citizen Kane sucks ass. Vice versa for the film buff from Manhattan.

.

More like, smaller films need name actors if they want financing or anyone to see them. I mean is District 9 more likely to make more money than Willis' Surrogates? It's a luck of the draw that a young actor/actress can get enough facetime as a supporting role in an indie flick staring Amy Adams to make an impression.

^That's true, and I hate it. It seems like the only way people can have any leeway in the buisness is by having to sell there soul a little and do things that actors don't necessarily find rewarding ie Katherine Heigl in Knocked Up for instance she disliked her role but she still did it because she thought it would advance her career because the director involved was supposed to be the next big thing. So they do these roles and then complain about them in interviews when they become established actores. What's worse is it's all about image and not about depth anymore. You look pretty and can jiggle you breast in a top your an A-lister these days. Who really has been completely taken away emotionally by the story a film (not load noise or explotions) in the last 5-8 years and how often has that movie been a reconizable to the general populace? What's sad really is I can't think of one off the top of my head.

District 9 is a good example of something that overcame Hollywood's stupid unwritten rule that originality and depth can sell too! That movie is so refreshing BTW and I will be in line at my theatre as soon as it comes out. So maybe it's not as bleak as I made sound but you get me right?

I think the opposite. I think Brad Pitt is a great actor who can play a lot of different roles. I think his actual acting ability gets overlooked or scoffed at because he is Brad Pitt, worlds sexiest man.
