Channing Tatum is Jackie Estacdo in "The Darkness"

And none of them have a really tough guy persona IMO.
Your right. Hollywood doesn't really make action movies like they did in the 80s where you could get away with having a big muscle guy who can't act. Most the action guys are non-american. Matt Damon made a good transition to an action star in the Bourne movies Gyllenhaal might be good in the prince of persia but there are not many other US actors who have which is why Jason Statham, Christen Bale, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, Clive Owen, Colin Farrell and other are taking the more action roles in hollywood.
I agree Johnny has always been talented but Brad Pitt? He sucked and I mean sucked in most of his work (especially in the begining of his career) until recently he wasn't really good at all IMO. I think your giving him to much credit.
Brad Pitts a good actor his no Marlon Brando or anything but his good enough compared to the young guys running around at the moment.

My point was more that his obviously a pretty boy/tabloid magnet who actual has talent to back up the star status.

True but is a Canadian actor really that far removed from America?

Okay I think you missed my point. And yeah I was exaggerating he is actually quite a good actor NOW! And that's my point at the same stage Channing Tatum is in acting ability Brad Pitt was at the same place in my opinion at his age acting wise and everyone makes it seem like he is so much better. He isn't really. When Brad Pitt was 28 he was still trying to get noticed for his acting. He isn't much better than CT.

jaymes I've just watched that Recognizing your Saints, and I gotta say...what a brilliant little film. And honestly, I thought Tatum was actually sensational in it. I really got the sense that Antonio was a tortured person whose only release was violence. But he was incredibly loyal to his friends. Quite a touching portrayal really. The scene with his brother on the train tracks really sticks out. It has completely changed my opinion of him as an actor.

Great you got to see it! I really do recomend it to everyone. It was seriously just a great movie! Even if you hate Channing still go watch it even if you just like Robert Downey Jr. and Rosario Dawson.

Nope, not at all. And that is why I dont mind if a Canadian plays Captain America.

I LOVE Rosario!

Even Shia was great in it. That scene where he is in the bath and his dad is trying to talk to him was some pretty outstanding acting.

Exactly, it was just a great movie! I loved that scene! I was a very accurate portrayal of inner city kids life. It's based on a true story directed by the man who went through it so that might be why.

America Junior is pretty much on par with us, sans that weird money. :o I may swing up to Toronto before summer is over and have me a fling...be much cheaper.

Lol well, I odnt really care :p

I dont think ti really matters. We're pretty close to Americans, so It wont be a big deal. It's a different story if they cast an Irishman who can't hide his accent as Cap, but not much of a difference to cast a Canadian as an American.

I kinda agree with BB. I wouldn't find it that big of a deal to hire a Canadian to play Cap.

:Runs away to not get pelted by stones:

There's like a handful of dudes working on current daytime soap operas that look more like Jackie than he does, to be honest.

Really? wow... talk about disappointing...

he had a pretty boy look as angel i thought

casting this guy as angel was an utter joke, yes he can act but, in no way on this earth (apart from at fox) does he look at all good looking enough to be angel.

so far the darkness is shaping up enough to be as bad as max payne!

He seemed to have classic look to him to me. I agree he isn't a pretty boy but he isn't rugged looking enough to me to be someone like Jackie. He's very boy next door IMO.

Oh hell yes "darkness" movie...but wait wtf...Channing tatum?...WTF WTF

He didn't have a classic look to me, looked too short and his face wasn't pretty enough to play the Angel I've thought of.

Probably thanks to Fox always wanting kids to play the parts and mess with stories and origins.

He doesnt have the look. UnionJack is spot on.

Angel has always been the pretty boy type. Not saying Foster is ugly, but he definetly doesnt have the right look for Angel.
A young, facial hairless Charlie Hunnam would have been better.

Your stuff is amazing rainingcrow.

Your darklings look sick!

EDIT:
How they could have casted Channing Tatum over Milo is just strange. Errr... Now I'm angry.
