Chapter 18 - "Like Any Parasite" - Clip(s) & Discussion

I was just thinking about Linderman's meet with Nathan, and what he told him about the future. Perhaps Linderman is similar to Watchmen's Dr. Manhattan. Perhaps he has the ability to allow him to see time, as a whole. Everything, from beginning to end.

Just a theory.

I'm sure it has been said already, but getting Malcolm Mcdowell to play Linderman is genius casting.

Not only that but I think it was more a case of...yeah...I have that much freakin influence that I can give you the election on a silver platter.

Just watched the TIVO'ed episode...THAT BLEW MY MIND!!! :wow:

Why must we wait 5 whole weeks?!?!!? :(

The Uluru painting can be easily explained now that we have an illusionist on board btw...

Dude, I totally thought Linderman was gonna be Bob Barker. I was a tad dissapointed. Anyone know what else that guy has been in?

If?
Clockwork Orange
Lexx
Caligula
Entourage

And various other films/tv

malcolm mcdowell that is...

Oh, is that right? Meh. Well, just theorizing.

Throughout the season Linderman has been buying Issac's paintings. Maybe he buys them because if he can see a specific outcome through a painting he can play his hand on that person just like he did with Nathan by offering him the White House in 2 years. Linderman's only power is money.

repeat after me:

LINDERMAN

HAS

NO

POWERS

everyone repeat that? now keep saying it until it sinks in...

Looks like Candace is going to be the Mastermind of the show.

Indeed.
Um... no... the shadow was there. All of his paintings have been quite literal, all the scenes he has painted have come true... they have not usually been what we thought they were, but they were real, true an quite literal.

The only thing not coming to pass yet is Uluru, and that doesn't mean it isn't literal, only that it hasn't happened yet... the museum dinosaur was something totally different.

And since Isaac's paintings always literally come true, then it's pretty clear that he's going to die... and how!

Peter's dreams, on the contrary, are extremely illeteral. In his dream simone dies because of him as he explodes, in real life, Simone dies because of him exploding emotionally. No one else dies in the dream explosion... to say nothing of the uniforms being worn...

Nathan is clearly eviscerated in the extended vision, among others. The explosion itself isn't symbolic, but the others roles in the vision probably are. Simone runs towards Peter only to be pulled away by Isaac.

I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed Sylar and Mohinder in this episode. Especially when Sylar was being tortured and when asked what he wanted his psycho response of "finishing the list so I can sink my teeth into them".

One of the best scenes in the whole show. The creepiness of the character was perfect! Made me think of Hopkin's delicious acting in Silence of the Lambs.

I don't know man, it seemed to me like maybe he does have powers. My first thought was that maybe he has the power of longevity, meaning he can live for a long time. His hair was really white, and just the way he was talking about vegetibles, that they were healthy for you...just a thought. :o

You know what I noticed? That all three commercial breaks ended with Sylar and Mo. LOL.

exactly he's moved on from simply wanting power, now he's displaying classic addict pathology

LINDERMAN HAS NO POWERS

The whole point of that scene was the juxtaposition of a "powered" individual and a man of REAL power.

He was basically saying, you may be stronger, faster, etc...

But I can get to you in ways you can't even imagine. He doesn't get angry or violent because he doesn't need to. He has surpassed fear altogether. Now THAT'S power

I was thinking about the new found "Illusionist" Girl and how she is going to have to "deal" with HRG. Is it possible that the monster in Issac's painting, seen confronting a guy with glasses, could be that chick?
