Chapter 24 - "Four Months Later" - Discussion Thread 9/24/07

I don't recall them dating, flirting and kissing... as said, Han was the main guy in Leia's life. Luke was the good friend who liked her while Han acted on it.

This awkward brother and sister DATING and KISSING relationship- no thanks. Clones though, that would be 'out there' and still "normal" enough for everyone to be cool with.

Wouldn't work Meredith and Claire were the only ones reported about and found by the Company in the house that burned down. If he was Nathan's he'd have to be by a different mother. And no. He just shouldn't be Nathan's kid.

That we know about. The Company clearly didn't tell Noah everything and the only information we know about the fire came from Meredith and Noah. Meredith isn't exactly trust worthy as she lied to Claire and Nathan and Noah was in the dark on a lot of things.

They kissed twice. They flirted in A New Hope. Luke openly had romantic affection towards her in both A New Hope and Empire. That is pretty damn indepth. Not to be an ass here, I'm just trying to fully understand your views on incest in the fantasy genre :cwink:

would it be so hard to accept that maybe individuals from bloodlines could have the same power? it's not X-Men you know.:o

I just think you're looking too much into the kid. I think he's just there to replace Zach as Claire's person her age to turn to.

Wow... what an episode. Honestly... after last season, I really can't expect Heroes to be as awesome. Still the best TV around, but after cramming down season one within three weeks, 45 minutes of Heroes a week is going to seem underwhelming. Oh well.

1) Peter's cliffhanger.

Peter is OBVIOUSLY amnesiatic... and if he can't remember who he is, then he can't remember others, which means that he got that power from one of the three men standing in front of him RIGHT THEN. Look for the one who looks least surprised. There's your irish mobster regular character right there.

Oh, and Peter wakes up with Amnesia wearing THE HAITIAN'S necklace... hmmm? I wonder how that could happen????

2) Hiro seems less annoying with a logical sidekick. Once he and Takezo line up, they'll be good to go. It's pretty obvious that Hiro will be Takezo long enough to become a hero and then Takezo would take over. I wouldn't be surprised if Hiro becomes the catalyst for Takezo power to live so long.

3) It looks like our big Volume-long arc is the death of the old-heads. Best thing about this episode for me was when Kaito Nakamura said there were 9 left, after naming the three dead ones (meaning "Dallas" Petrelli is confirmably, totally, dead.) That means we know there were 12 originally. That's very cool to me.

Production suggests this season while have two volumes, so I wouldn't count out the last of the twelve dying by Christmas. But I sure wish I had gotten to see Kaito's power in the present day before he died. Perhaps he can't do it without a sword?

4) Mohinder-HRG team up?
Now THAT is good storytelling. To have them stuck on this danged vendetta is awesome. (And the word is comeuppance, not co-muffins). Especially since its a backup story, and really, what else is Bennet going to do with his life.

5) I too want a Nissan Rogue now. Man, oh man, do I.

6) Mohinder and Matt livign together seems like something designed by Slash Fanfic Authors to me... it just seems odd, but I'm glad to see Matt being a true badass, and also glad that his newfound coolness will backfire, because lets face it, Molly is the next rung in evolution, like Micah. You're not going to see any dumb TV kids here, and that alone makes Heroes worth the price of admission.

7) Maya and Alejandro are cool enough. A decent supporting story, who knows who they'll run over on the way to New York. Ugh. Chances are her plague and the Sati plague can cancel each other out, making her the cure in some way. I'm curious why Alejandro can survive it though, is that his power? To survive his sister's plague? Any plague? Interesting...

8) I still want to see Dana Davis... she's so gorgeous, one of the highlights of my evening was seeing her for just a split second on the week 2 preview.

9) West (that's his name? I don't recall it) seems... interesting... a step up from Zack, but I actualy DON'T like the fact that he has powers, and I ESPEICALLY don't like the fact that he has a duplicate power... you'd think a peeping tom would develop some kind of supervision as opposed to being able to 'fly.' Ugh. That one of the things I loved about Heroes, that everyone had a different power, though perhaps weren't the only ones in all of history to have it. Now all my Heroes RPGs are ruined and everyone will want to be an Empathy ("West has someone else's power, why can't I?")

10) I still love Heroes, and though I won't arrange my schedule around it like I did this week, it still holds a very VERY special place in my heart.

I just think your looking too much into the kid. I think he's just there to replace Zach as Claire's person her age to turn to.

Why give him the same power as Nathan? There are hundreds of super hero powers in pop culture or they could make up new ones. He could've had super sight and been looking in Claire's room. He could've been a shape shifter and in the form of a bird watching her. There were a million ways to go about it but the writers gave him a power that is deliberately like Nathan's. Why? Especially on a show where practically every character is connected in some weird way. Why do that if there is no connection?

No, but I always saw the Han and Leia relationship as the central love story. They were the ones flirting all the time and saying "I love you", etc.

And dude (LeChuck), to each his own- alright? You choose the path of the dating brother and sister, I choose the path of the normal or clones.
Sorry, I'm an opinionated ass. :o I'm also a huge fan of Lost, so that should explain most of my complaints for Heroes.

Same here.

And I don't know, something about incest in this case just gives me that "yuck" feeling. Maybe that the show is somewhat grounded in reality or might be the age- something about the idea just seems really really off.

Cloning would be cool though.

A little accidental "incest" is fertile ground for great comedy. West is a love interest, love it or hate it, and since he was designed to be just that, I can take bets that he won't be a Petrelli kid. I think that's X-Men thinking, where powers are hereditary, but watching the show, powers are based more on personality and situation than having powers hard coded into their DNA. Everyone's powers fits their situation (when they got them) too perfectly for it to be a matter of hand-me-down powers. Again, that's X-Men thinknig with no basis within the show.

Oh, and for the record, Luke was the love interest until he went all Jedi and Han swooped in. If you guys wanna watch it again sometime, we can do that, but it's pretty clear.

Nathan and the mirror is the best mystery so far. Chances are a lot has happened to ol' Nate since four months ago. But it IS Nathan, we can tell by his reactions to things, and his depression. It's not visual denial... that's too much of a betrayal to the watcher's eyes for a show like this, and for a sideplot too. No, sir, Nathan is on some OTHER stuff... I hope to see what it is soon...

Nathan looks like a ****ing terrorist right now. Seriously, what the ****?

I wasn't denying anything. And your tongue sticking out does not amuse me. :trans:

Nathan has the badass Jack Sheppard/Gerald Butler beard going on now. So cool, I wish I had dark hair so I could grow one of those. :o

Was the scarred guy in the bar mirror reflection Nathan or Peter?

Nathan apparently, but I also thought it might have been Peter as well.

Yeah, except Jack and Gerry can pull that **** off.:o

He just looks like a Hezbolah reject.

When I first saw that my first thought was that Nathan was a shapeshifter, that the real Nathan is actually dead and that that's the character Molly keeps seeing in her dreams. That's probably off though, I like Nathan and I want him to be back for reals. :csad:
