Wow... what an episode. Honestly... after last season, I really can't expect Heroes to be as awesome. Still the best TV around, but after cramming down season one within three weeks, 45 minutes of Heroes a week is going to seem underwhelming. Oh well.
1) Peter's cliffhanger.
Peter is OBVIOUSLY amnesiatic... and if he can't remember who he is, then he can't remember others, which means that he got that power from one of the three men standing in front of him RIGHT THEN. Look for the one who looks least surprised. There's your irish mobster regular character right there.
Oh, and Peter wakes up with Amnesia wearing THE HAITIAN'S necklace... hmmm? I wonder how that could happen????
2) Hiro seems less annoying with a logical sidekick. Once he and Takezo line up, they'll be good to go. It's pretty obvious that Hiro will be Takezo long enough to become a hero and then Takezo would take over. I wouldn't be surprised if Hiro becomes the catalyst for Takezo power to live so long.
3) It looks like our big Volume-long arc is the death of the old-heads. Best thing about this episode for me was when Kaito Nakamura said there were 9 left, after naming the three dead ones (meaning "Dallas" Petrelli is confirmably, totally, dead.) That means we know there were 12 originally. That's very cool to me.
Production suggests this season while have two volumes, so I wouldn't count out the last of the twelve dying by Christmas. But I sure wish I had gotten to see Kaito's power in the present day before he died. Perhaps he can't do it without a sword?
4) Mohinder-HRG team up?
Now THAT is good storytelling. To have them stuck on this danged vendetta is awesome. (And the word is comeuppance, not co-muffins). Especially since its a backup story, and really, what else is Bennet going to do with his life.
5) I too want a Nissan Rogue now. Man, oh man, do I.
6) Mohinder and Matt livign together seems like something designed by Slash Fanfic Authors to me... it just seems odd, but I'm glad to see Matt being a true badass, and also glad that his newfound coolness will backfire, because lets face it, Molly is the next rung in evolution, like Micah. You're not going to see any dumb TV kids here, and that alone makes Heroes worth the price of admission.
7) Maya and Alejandro are cool enough. A decent supporting story, who knows who they'll run over on the way to New York. Ugh. Chances are her plague and the Sati plague can cancel each other out, making her the cure in some way. I'm curious why Alejandro can survive it though, is that his power? To survive his sister's plague? Any plague? Interesting...
8) I still want to see Dana Davis... she's so gorgeous, one of the highlights of my evening was seeing her for just a split second on the week 2 preview.
9) West (that's his name? I don't recall it) seems... interesting... a step up from Zack, but I actualy DON'T like the fact that he has powers, and I ESPEICALLY don't like the fact that he has a duplicate power... you'd think a peeping tom would develop some kind of supervision as opposed to being able to 'fly.' Ugh. That one of the things I loved about Heroes, that everyone had a different power, though perhaps weren't the only ones in all of history to have it. Now all my Heroes RPGs are ruined and everyone will want to be an Empathy ("West has someone else's power, why can't I?")
10) I still love Heroes, and though I won't arrange my schedule around it like I did this week, it still holds a very VERY special place in my heart.
