Chapter 54 - "Cold Snap" Discussion Thread - 3/23/09

Doesn't Ando's ability to amplify other's powers only temporary though? I mean their powers are amplified for a limited time.

... I didn't say it didn't make sense, I'm just saying there's so much that we don't know, there's no reason to think that its true.

Why SHOULD ando's human ampness be able to juice them back to normal... what is it, specifically, that Ando does to people's bodies when his power hits them?

Not permently but if he amps hiro i would think he would have his ability back in full atleast for a little while anyway, just my guessing on how his ability should work, didnt mean to come off like i know how abilites should work on the show :cwink:

Anyone think that Tracy will get her revenge on Danko? I am wondering if Danko will bite it this season. I can see Tracy appearing out of nowhere and sticking it to him. Seems like the fake death into surprise appearance is inevitable.

it was a good episode. Nice to see Micah back (please stick around next vol.). And Traceys ice trick was great, also love her blinking her shatted face eye. Wonder how they are going to bring her back, see Tracey grow more would be nice.

But one thing I have already learned ofcourse from this show is never get attached to the blondes or well females (unless you are Claire or Angela) since if you are blonde, you will get killed eventually, and anything else you will probably just get written off or written poorly.

well you will have to get past...............

MR MUGGLES!!!!!!!! *GASP*

I don't mind him. I just hate the Claire/Mom/Dad Full House crap. It's the weakest part of the show.

No, it's the WRITER's fault. They refuse to let these character grow out of their Season 1 setups. Peter has to be the leader. Claire has to be the little girl and Hiro has to be the comic relief. They refuse to write these characters as growing.

If it were me? I would have had Claire actually captured by the Company and trained by her father as a real agent in Season 2... then we'd have real drama and girl that is actually growing up. But no... they didn't want that. They wanted more family time because... they don't have imaginations... they're just S1 fanboys.

I use to dispise Claire's storylines, but I kinda like them now...

on another note, I almost died in my couch when Matt flew, I was going to boycott Heroes if he'd acquired another power... but thankfully it was all an illusion... loved how he fooled the guards and made them seem invisible though

???can anyone clarify this for me???-Matt's kid-his power is pretty cool and I look forward to the scenarios he, Hiro and Ando will get into-but I didn't know he was born around the eclipse IDK what I was thinking, but I thought Matt's ex-wife was just pregnant in S1 and Matt doesn't know about his son???

Really good episode. Killing Daphne was lame. Especially after her acting like she never had feelings for Matt, what was up with that?

No surprise about Micah but glad he's back(and apparently hit puberty while he was gone). I don't think/hope Tracy is dead. She was getting to be really interesting and that little wink makes me think that she'll reform herself down the line.

Also Angela kicks ass!

agreed

Hiros not gonna get his time travelling powers back.

for the same reason Peter has been given his limited power.

the writers are trying to fix the show and they dont want fans saying

"why didnt peter use one of his many powers to save ...." or

"why doesnt Hiro just go back in time and change that, so that doesnt happen"

i like Hiro only being able to stop/start time. its alot funner than time travel.

Whats going to happen to the baby now? are Hiro and Ando gonna babysit it all season?

I always hated the fact that they did that, but this makes perfect sense and I actually hope this is their intetnion for limiting them

Matt's son could have been born during the second eclipse that happened.

I honestly dont know how I feel about Tracy possibly coming back. Its like one of the things Ive always like was that it was kinda presented in a more realistic way than most superhero shows or movies and the idea of Tracy reforming after being shattered seems a little fantastical. I mean it dont bother me to much cuz there are alot of other fantastical elements but I just never pictured we would see something like her reforming just like I wouldnt really ever want to see characters with animalistic appearences ala xmen. I dunno seems like its a little much but Im still gonna watch this show and I still love the more serious tone to this volume

Great episode!:applaud

I was really pleased to see Micah return as Rebel (suspected it was him) and i'm glad the writers brought back the forgotten Janice and baby Parkman in the picture. The death scenes of Tracy and especially Daphne were handled very well imo. Oooh..i just can't wait to see what happens next!:woot:

Btw, is it me or was Monica one of the captured people in Building 26?
Superman Returns called...
The matt/daphne scene looks like a nod to that rooftop scene.
I liked this too. Which makes me wonder, what exactly is his power? We've seen his ability to supercharge other ppls' powers, but this combative aspect is something relatively new.
When he killed Hiro in future he used the same power remember?

You're right. Had to think about that for a second. And I'm glad someone explained to me what his power actually is. I'm curious to see him back in action in the coming eps.

Me too - and the fact that HIS NAME WAS ON THE CAST CREDITS didn't helped with the suspense as well.

So true. I knew right away. They should have left his name out, or at least put him on the ending credits.

It's reasons like that why I don't read any of the cast credits. I don't even suscribe to the episode thread until the night of a new episode. I try to stay as spoiler free as possible.

Me too. I couldn't help but notice Noah Gray-Cabey's name at the bottom tho.

While the writers are at it, they need to bring Nathan's wife and kids back into the picture. That's kind of a big loose end that needs to be tied up. You would think that if Danko really wanted Nathan, then going after his wife and children would be a place to start.

Micah,Tracy and Monica Dawson are back in episode 22 (an invisible thread).
i looked it up on imdb!

The writers have said in the behind the eclipse Q&A's that the next villian will be a returning female character. Right there are two possibilities but i dont really see Monicas power being effective for a major villian role. The second i read it would be someone we knew, Caitlin popped into my head. That would help explain were she went when the future changed, and she'd be royaly pissed at Peter for forgetting all about her lol
