Chris Benoit Dead

wow I just found out. This sucks. I loved Benoit back in the day when he was in the radicals with Eddie, Perry Saturn and Dean Malenko.

Never be on a jury!
o_o I find it funny that everyone attacks me for believing Chris did it right away. I mean it's been pretty straight forward and plain to see that Chris killed his family. It didn't take a genius to see that.

I was shocked when I read it only a few hours before last nights RAW. I just finished Vengeance and wondered why he wasn't there, then I go online and find this!? I really hope they stop the stupid "Vince is dead!" angle NOW!!!

First Sherri, now Chris. :csad:

I still can't believe this. Whatever the 'cause of the Benoit family's dead is, I respect Benoit for his wrestling skills, all his amazing matches and will remember him as the best wrestler this generation has seen!

Thank you for the unforgettable years of great wrestling and entertainment!

R.i.P. Chris

You on a jury...

Lawer: So, cop, you decided to investigate the defendent for murder?
Cop: Yeah.
You: Guilty!!

Thats pretty much your entire logic

Dude wasn't such a nice guy afterall, LOL ... deeoky disturbing.

"Obviously"? This sounds more like an issue of people believing hokey internet board conspiracies above the evidence at hand.
You might be issuing me an apaology for this statement very shortly. Dude murdered his own family, please don't try to justify it because he is "Chis Benoit". The man was deeply, and OBVIOUSLY troubled / disturbed, whatever you want to call it. Strangling your wife and child isn't a normal kind of act. This isn't even like he killed someone else, he killed his entire inner circle. Those type of people are some of the most disturbed around.

Every man has his breaking point.

This has been the biggest, most untimely, and most devastating death of any celebrity for me so far... I wasn't this shocked when Eddie Guerrero died or any other athlete for that matter. I couldn't believe it, I turned on USA last night at 8:20pm and I thought they were just showing something random, ya know, 2004 Royal Rumble. Ok!

Then it said 'Remembering Chris Benoit'.

I went WWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT ?

There was WAY more to this than that don't even go in that ****ty ass direction. :cmad:

Well, alottt of people are now going to be angry and pointing fingers at WWE over that tribute to a murderer.

lol. Well that's why I asked. They had a 3-hour tribute all on Benoit last night, man. :D The guy died, that's all should be important. They're not glamorizing murder, they're just honoring what all he's done for wrestling and sports entertainment.

If....Magic Johnson died today after killing his family or something, I'd expect similar treatment. This reminds me of how much Phil Hartman's work and dedication is still in high regard.

Yes, but Phil Hartman was killed by his wife. He didn't kill her. Benoit did. Sorry, he deserves jack crap for his contribuations to wrestling and the field of entertainment.

It'd be the same if let's say Steven Spielberg, whose a ****ing great director goes out picks up a gun returns home, shoots, kills his wife, then kills himself. All his work becomes tainted from that point. He's no longer Steven Spielberg the great director, but Stephen Spielberg the Murderer.

I agree. WWE handled things well. They sent the wrestlers home. They canceled the live event but they still had an obligation to the USA Network and bewildered fans. There was no confirmation on the cause of death so WWE did the only thing they could do. I'm sure they'll handle future broadcasts differently.

This is absolutely mind numbing. In one moment, you feel terrible sadness and pain for the great loss, and then you find out the horrifying news. Imagine how his wrestler friends must feel. Your friend killed his wife and kid and then committed suicide.

I'm having a tough enough time as it is just being a fan of his.

EDIT: An unverified quote from another forum. I can't validify the content in this quote but here it is anyways

462. My second cousin is an officer with GBI (Georgia Bureau of Investigations) and what he's heard in his circle is that Chirs Benoit's wife killed their son Daniel, called Chris and told him to rush home because of an emergency which is why he missed last Sunday's Vengeance PPV. Upon arriving home Benoit killed his wife in a rage for the death of his son and then killed himself Monday morning. His wife's body was found in the master bedroom, strangled with the cord from an alarm clock. The son's body was found in his room appearantly suffocated with a garbage bag. Chris then wrote a suicide note explaining what had happened, apologized to his family, his other children (from a seperate relationship), and his fans. He the fasioned a slip-knot noose from from rope taken from the garage and hung himself from the ballaster in the foyer of his suburban Atlanta home.

I agree at the time of the show, there were no details released. I think what they did was fitting. It will be what they do now that will be telling.

I hope that the WWE would hire some grief counsellors at the least to help a lot of the people through this. There were a lot of things said in respect to Benoit both on a personal and professional level last night and it will be hard for his friends, co-workers and family to deal with this situation. My heart goes out to them.

I notice the testimonials were removed from the wwe.com site which I'm guessing is in reaction to the latest findings.

o_O. If this is the true scenario...then...hmm.

I just woke up today to read this. (I know I am a little behind, but work comes first) Any way my heart goes out to Chris's family and friends. This is a true tragety.

I have been a fan of Benoit all the way back to his New Japan days. I will never forget his match with Bret Hart in WCW it stand as the best match I have ever seen live.

Too many people on here are now calling him a monster, but forgeting that he too may be a victim. When Eddie died Chris went into a deep depression. Anyone who saw the tribute to Eddie saw it. Chris wasn't just crying he was sobbing. Sobbing like he lost more then just a friend, but a brother. He was never the same mentally after this. Unless you have been there then you don't know what drepression does to a person, not just mentally but physically too. I am saddened that he never got help with this.

And who is to say that he didn't come home to find his wife dead and his son dieing from some sort of poison that Nancy gave them. Seeing this and knowing he was powerless to stop it didn't just become the final straw that made him finally just give up on life. He lost his best friend, his wife and couldn't save his son. This would make me want to just die too. The point is, even if the police say that he killed them then himself they still really don't know for sure. Some times the police just wantr to close a case fast when they really have no evidence to find out what really happened.

Chris should be honored for what he did in the ring. But he should be mourned too for what he went through. If you don't know what was in his head how can you just call him a cold blooded killer?

Edit: while i was posting this someone found out and posted what happened. I am still saddened though. Like I said he was depressed. What Nancy did just drove him over the edge.

RIP Chris you will be missed.

This whole situation is so unbelivably ****ed up on so many levels.

And what I'm about to say is not meant to offend any of you guys but...now that we know this man killed his family, is it really in good taste to put him in your avatars? What he's done is not exactly sig-worthy if you know what I mean. Just my personal opinion but...I ain't trying to glorify what is clearly a crime against the human family.

Cal, some of them are still holding on to the very slight hope that he didn't, sadly.

If the officials are proclaiming this case as a double homocide/suicide, then whatever hope such ones may have had has been regrettably extinguished. :csad:

To be honest with you? Now that I KNOW that the guy snapped and killed his own kinfolk, seeing him glorified in people's avatars and signatures is kinda disgusting to me.

No his wife killed their son. He killed her for doing that, and then killed himself when he realized he had lost everything. Let me tell you this as a parent if someone killed my son even if it was my wife, I can't honestly say I wouldn't have done the same thing.
