I really appreciatte and support the good work that The Salvation Army and other charitys do all year round. I just want to know why the big push around the holidays. Money is tight. Personally I do more spending this time if year than any other. I know I'm not the only broke person out there. But every time I come out of Wal-Mart or the mall there they are ringing the bell. I know this sounds cold and Scroogish but what about the homeless and such the rest of the year? I would be more likely to give money at other times when I've not just spent a couple hundred dollars for gifts. If anybody thinks I'm an a**hole for this, then you're probably right, but if anybody agrees with me, you're proabably right too.

I'm not big on giving those people money just because of the tactics they use. "Hey, people are coming out of stores so they must have some change, right?" WRONG, credit cards! :cmad:

i'd like to see the bell person plus the whole pot of changed get knocked down by two other people fighting over one of those hard to get elmo dolls or something.
