As Peter Bogdanavich said, "Pulp Fiction is the most influential film of the last twenty years and Quentin Tarantino is the most unique and powerful voice to come out since The New Hollywood Period".

I really think he summed it up perfectly. Christopher Nolan's greatest impact was a film in which starred two of the biggest icons in Pop Culture history. Nolan is a good filmmaker and he flirts with great at times, but Tarantio is a legend and true auteur through and through.

This is very easy to me. Before django I had never heard of Tarantino and I found that movie to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen before. Out of those 9 movies you have listened I haven't even heard of 4 of those movies and both kill bills I had no interst in at all. Where with Nolan dark knight rises is my favorite movie of all time and all 3 in the dark knight trilogy are in my top like 20 movies of all time and 2 in top 10 and interstellar is in my top 20 to maybe top 10. So to me Nolan all the way!

lol at that photo but yeah I had never heard of QT before Django. I am really surprised by the results of this. Chris has done 3 movies consider classic in dark knight, inception, insomena and dark knight rises was consider really good not quit a classic but still great and begins was consider really good. So Chris has 3 classic and 1 close to classic and 1 other really good and has also yet to make a movie that is consider bad. With all the talk about Chris it sounds like a lot of people think he is one of the best current film makers around where with QT I have never heard any one say that he is one of the best current film makers around like with Chris. Also I now that Django got a lot of love but I found it to be one of the worst movies I have never seen before. The movie was like a hour to long and just boring and dull and pointless to me. Like I said chris has some of my favorite films of all time. When I start thinking of my favorite movies off all time some of the movies I think are dark knight trilogy, interstellar, the old star wars, spider man 2, Jurassic park, lion king and 4 of those movies are by chris. Pup fiction I have heard of but I didn't know that was by QT. I am 26 by the way.

Tdkr is his bad movie. I realize this is subjective but I think Tarantino is far more consistent and interesting in his films than Nolan.

Tarantino has way more classics. Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained. All pop culture staples.

Whaa? Nolan's in the lead!? Where are the Tarantino fans at?

Never hearing of one of the most acclaimed and influential directors of the last 25 years isn't a badge of honor. It's an admission of ignorance.

It's not like we're talking about an obscure art house director either. Tarantino movies regularly gross over $100 million and are nominated for Oscars.

In this case "I never Heard of him" is the equivalent of saying "I have no idea what I'm talking about. "

I think you're calling Nolan's remake of Insomnia a classic here. It's a good movie; I like it. But, please, do yourself a favor a watch the original version (1997) with Stellan Skarsgard if you want to see a great film.

Also, watch anything else not directed by Nolan. Anything. Other people make movies, too. To have the majority of his oeuvre in your all-time top twenty or so is a sign of an ignorance bordering on criminal.

Compared to Death Proof, it may as well be Hamlet.

I thought the passage of time had finally altered the negative reputation Death Proof garnered upon its initial release. I really think it's a quality film. Kurt Russell is brilliant and the stunt work is refreshing. It blows kitsch like the Fast & Furious movies out of the water. I'm surprised Django Unchained still hasn't overtaken it as Tarantino's consensus career misstep, because the structure of that film really is appalling. The narrative dies [BLACKOUT]when Waltz and Leo do[/BLACKOUT]. Then the story carries on for another hour.

Death Proof was meant to be a grindhouse/B-movie.

Comparing it to TDKR doesn't really make sense to me.

I call it Hardcore Nolanitis.

FWIW I'd go with Tarantino here. Honestly I think he's a much more polished director than Nolan as I think Nolan’s ambitions sometimes exceed his grasp. Especially in regards to action, where the Kill Bill movies are a real statement. And Tarantino has a great ear for dialogue while Nolan’s reliance on exposition sometimes works against him.

I like Nolan and think Memento is a masterpiece but I'll take Tarantino filmography.

Death Proof still had cool as **** car chase sequences and a sexy dance. Not to mention Kurt Russell.

I think it's a pretty damn good B movie. But I also like Insomnia so what do I know?

Oh don't get me wrong I loved it. But I can see how it's not for everyone. Still, it's no comparison. His work speaks for itself though.

I love Tarantino so much but I'm going with Nolan. Interstellar and The Dark Knight are personal favorites. (But so is Pulp Fiction.)

I never got the love for Pulp Fiction.

It is a good movie with terrific acting, but I never taught anything more of it.

But this is just one man opinion.

I actually loved both Inglorious Basterds and Django Unchained.

This is not even competition, Nolan all the way.

Tarantino is one of the most over-rated writers/directors out there IMHO, I like some of his films, some even a great deal, but overall they are just pulp stories, nothing too deep or ground-breaking.

Nolan's The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Memento, Interstellar or Inception are amongst the best films ever created, so...

What is deep and ground-breaking about Nolan in contrast to what Tarantino has done? Because to me Nolan's movies have very little substance.

TDKR is not a bad movie not even close. The movie is way better then just about any number 3s in a trilogy and the movie got like a 88-89 on RT. I don't think kill bill is consider a classic and if you are going to call those 2 classic then I think you have to call TDKR and begins classic to.

Yes Insomina it got a 92 on RT and I have heard a lot of good things about the movie. I have never seen it my self though and I didn't even now there was a original version in till like 2 days ago lol. I though Nolan's was the first. I have seen other movies not made by Nolan. Like I said I love the first 3 star wars movies and spider man 2. Even terminator 1 and 2 I like a lot and the last 2 apes movies are really good and even the very first one to. I love the ice age movies, iron giant, Jurassic park and world, Lion king. So there are some movies I like a lot by other people but like I said 4 of my top like 20 movies are Nolan movies where QT I don't have a movie of his that I really like much.

I call it Hardcore Nolanitis.

One when it comes to composer like just about all my favorite soundtracks are by Zimmer so what is that being a Zimmeritis lol. I have 4 movies of Nolan's that are like my favorite movies but that doesn't mean I cant like his movies. A lot of people loved inception and I found that movie boring dull and to confusing. I had no idea what was going on the whole time.

Eh, maybe some people aren't old enough to have witnessed the impact Tarantino has had on cinema but in my opinion he definitely changed things with his dialogs, which comes from him being a writer/director with a strong point of view.
Nolan is great film maker but honestly I've never felt he went that outside the box other than with Memento and it's editing.
