Fantasy Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

Someone reminded me that Oppenheimer pretty much maxed out the runtime capacity for IMAX 70mm prints. I think three hours is the cap.

Nothing an intermission can't solve.

I didnt had it on my bingo card that Christopher Nolan making a Movie about the Odyssey would turn into a discourse of how little literatue is taught in many schools.

Really any topic is an opening to discuss how American education is currently on life-support.

I'm a High School English Teacher and I can tell you it's dire...

I think Nolan would rather die than let an intermission be placed in his movies. I sat through Oppenheimer 3 times in the theaters.

The more I think about it and digest the news, the more excited I get at the prospect of seeing a mythological subject handled by Nolan.

But at the same time, as soon as I think of the casting, the project takes a bit of a nosedive in my mind... Do we know who's the lead?
Nothing against them, but I never warmed up much to Damon and even way less to Holland... But I love to be proven wrong.

if Nolan can make Harry Styles of all people have a good part in a great movie, I have full faith in Holland. Holland has a lot of good in him that rarely gets tapped into, which is what Nolan is known for doing.

Trailers in theaters will challenge audiences to abuse their bladder with this film and you know it. :o

Wouldn't an intermission make the movie even longer (because you are pausing it in the middle for thirty minutes or whatever), and create a lot of long lines at the bathroom and concession stands?

Usually intermissions are 15 minutes long.

If you can't use the bathroom in that time, then that's your fault. :o

Gatorade bottle it.

It’s uncouth to poop into a Gatorade bottle, Enriquespy. Please be considerate. :o

If there was an intermission it would be a bit of a throwback to old school epics like Ben-Hur or Gone with the Wind. And now The Brutalist is setting the modern precedent. I’m gonna say unlikely, but not impossible here.

Bollywood movies still do intermissions to this day so it's not THAT uncommon.

It's true. An empty pickle jar is much more suitable. That way you have more space. :o

I've finally checked out Ralph Fiennes's Odyssey movie and it made me curious if Nolan will make this rated R just like with Oppenheimer.

Case in point, his performance in The Devil All The Time.

It's a shame how underrated that whole movie is and how people rarely talk about it.

I'm kinda thinking he'll go back to PG-13 for this one. As we saw with Oppenheimer, the rating doesn't make a difference as far as box office goes but he might want to make it more accessible to younger teens since junior high is about the time when The Odyssey is covered in schools, or at least it used to be.

You don't think high schools are showing Oppenheimer in history class? :o
