Fantasy Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

“I was originally hired by Warner Bros. to direct ‘Troy.’ Wolfgang [Petersen] had developed it, and so when the studio decided not to proceed with his superhero movie [‘Batman Vs Superman’], he wanted it back,” Nolan said.

Its crazy that they basically traded places with the genres they were originally hired to direct.

Actually kind of unfathomable to consider how things would’ve gone if he did Troy instead.

Obviously he took Batman to heights many other directors wouldn’t have been able to, but I also don’t imagine he would have the name recognition he has now without his time with the character. It was mutually beneficial.

If there's some sort of combination between on-set animatronics and stop motion miniature stuff, I'll freak.

Nolan directed a short doc about the Brothers Quay some years back, and ever since then I've wondered if he ever intended to attempt effects like that in one of his films.

This reminds me of when Nolan did that special look at TDK back in the day. We got the intro to the movie with the bank heist.
That's how it's been with most Nolan movies the holiday season before in IMAX. The bank opening from TDK played in front of I Am Legend, the plane opening from TDKR played before Mission: Impossible 4, Dunkirk I think had an extended trailer in front of Rogue One, the opera scene from Tenet played in front of The Rise of Skywalker, and Oppenheimer had an extended trailer in front of The Way of Water.

I just assumed they'd only play the prologue in legit IMAX theaters. If it'll show in digital IMAX as well then I get to play ball.

I'm thinking it'll be all IMAX. With Oppenheimer there was no prologue, but there was that alternate exclusive trailer that I remember played at my local digital IMAX before the last Avatar. If I recall this was also the case for Dunkirk's prologue before Rogue One.

Yep. I remember Interstellar had an amazing extended trailer as well (I might have to look that up and watch it again). The only one that hasn't had anything extra is Inception, which is the only post-TDK Nolan films that didn't use IMAX cameras.

Wouldn't be surprised if they also showed this in Dolby since Cameron has been pushing it.
