Circuit City to close 69 stores

I forgot about how this last Christmas I went to Circuit City for Black Friday in the early AM. I was on my way to work an I was early so I decided to stop an pick up Dead Rising for $10. I drove by Best Buy and I slowed down an saw that the place was PACKED the doors couldnt close due to the amount of people. Then when I went to Circuit City it looked like 7 people in the entire store. They had a set up for a large crowd but barely had enough to even look like Best Buy on there worst day

I still can't believe it has come to this. For a long time a joke I had with my friends is how I could go into a Circuit City needing batteries... and come out with a new TV. It is the most dangerous store for me to be in alone. I become helpless and just buy stuff.

I guess it's... Best Buy now. :|

i always preferred shopping at the local circuit city here rather than best buy and the like.
circuit city always had what i wanted, they always had sales on a variety of different items, and unlike from what i've heard, the workers were very friendly and helpful.

i went there for black friday once and it was slammed. there were some amazing deals. most of my BIG electronic purchases involved me reading about them on circuitcity.com regardless of where I bought it from. i'd always read about it beforehand

CC here in CT hasn't been relevant in a while now.....dingy stores and bad employees...I could never find anyone if I had a question and I damn sure ain't going to ask the fat sad girl at the register (there's one in every CC) about a TV

Wal-Mart saves money in retail with all the overseas labor done at near slave wages, not to mention their practice of buying up all land remotely near their stores so that all other stores and restaurants built near them have to pay rent just to stay open, but that's all okay because they're passing the savings on to yyooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!

Just joking. Only Mom and Pop type stories near me I don't shop at. Not because they cost to much, no it's just I don't need to go there. Don't need rings, shoes repaired, or a chair made. Oh or a used car.

I buy almost everything exclusively from Amazon. Best Buy is a joke really. I love going there to browse and see everything but their prices are pretty bad. I recently bought a Sony Bravia HDTV LCD 32inch, Best Buy price, $597, Target price $549.99. I bought mine at Target, it's glorious.

720. 1080 will cost you about $300 more, frankly, it's better to get the 40 inch set at that point.
