Just watched Citizen Kane. Certianly very groundbreaking at the time and very well done, still not sure what to make of it though.I think I liked Casablanca more,of course thier will always be that Citizen Kane Vs Casablanca debate for best film.

Citizen is one of the best directed films ever and best overall...

Citizen Kane & Casablanca are both great, no need for any comparisons really; both are groundbreaking movies that stood the test of time and have become classics. I remember when I hadn't seen either film and went down to my local video store and rented both. I watched them back-to-back and was in awe of them. I still am, they're amazing films.

I prefer Casablanca, but I'm a sucker for all of Bogart's films.

The DVD is on top of my DVD player. It has been gathering dust for several months now. And I'm perfectly happy with it. :)

I think Citizen Kane is an excellent film, one of the best of all time...not so sure if it's THE best. I think Casablanca is more entertaining of the two. However, Gone With The Wind is still the greatest film of all time imo:p:up:

It's sat on the shelf for nearly three years and I've yet to pop it into my player. I've been meaning to watch it, though.

Its difficult to get into it at first, I'll admit. It took some time for me to fully digest it and discover what it meant to me.

And it makes sense that Casablanca would be more popular. It's more of a classic Holywood story than Kane, as well as giving a more optimistic message.
