I'm curious about the shift in having Scarlet Witch on some of Team Cap's merch to now focusing on Sharon Carter. Did they realize a bit too late that Sharon has more screen time?

I've seen others mention merchandise for SW might be harder because of Fox? Is that true, even if they've never used her? MCU's SW isnt' technically a mutant. I never know if I should he chalking it up to that or the fact that they refuse to make female action figures half the time.

Due to Scarlet Witch being a shared rights character, she isn't allowed to appear on some merchandise. When she isn't allowed, they substitute Sharon.

We were discussing this in the other thread, but someone suggested that she is being left off of marketing promo images specifically, like the kinds that would be used for T-shirts and backpacks and such. The same thing happened with Age of Ultron. A lot of the marketing images had the 6 original Avengers and Vision, but not the Maximoff twins. So that could be why Scarlet Witch is left out of a lot of the marketing images here but not the live-action posters and stuff (such as this theater stuff):

Also, it should be noted that while she doesn't have much merch, she does have some. She's getting a Funko for the movie and is present in the Lego line, and was was just mentioned, she'll be getting a Marvel Legends figure too.

Also just in general, Scarlet Witch not having a ton of toy is par for the course. A lot of characters here don't have a lot of merchandise. This is a record number of heroes in one movie so the main leads like Cap, Iron Man, Black Panther and Black Widow have taken precedence.

Even Vision and Hawkeye don't have much in the way of merchandise.
