Cloak & Dagger Cloak and Dagger General Discussion

From what I've heard, only the pilot has been films so far. So this is probably all footage from the first episode (and Freeform loves that kind of trailer).

I know basically nothing about C&D, so at first glance it looks to be another typical teen drama where every teen is more sex obsessed than Dr. Ruth

It looks okay so far. I hope we do see them properly suited up and that there aren't just only nods to their costumes.

Cloak seems to come across older in the comics than here.

What little I know about Cloak and Dagger comes from the few times I've seen them pop up in Spider-Man comics, specifically Maximum Carnage.

Given Marvel TV's annoying habit of hiding the costumes for as long as possible, I'm pretty confident that they'll be in civilian clothes for most of the series.

But as someone who knows the story and these characters, it looks like this really has some potential to tell an interesting and relevant story. Hope it's not squandered because I could easily see this turning into some sugary, teeny-bopper nonsense.

What's happening in the middle of the water during that flashback scene? Is that a Chitauri vessel exploding?

Now if we could just get a trailer for the Runaways too. I hope that is definitely set in the MCU as well. There seems to be some question mark about that though.

This looked really really good. I'm incredibly interested in what happens next. I think this is going to put Cloak and Dagger on the map from "Those guys that know Spider-Man" to a really cool power couple IF (and this isn't as big an IF as it may seem) IF they can avoid CW-ing up the personal drama.

Definitely has my attention. Will keep an eye on it.

Trailer wasn't half bad. I'll be sure to give it a chance.

Yeah that's the worry. I would imagine though that this show wouldn't have as many episodes per season as CW shows so hopefully that will force them to keep things a lot tighter storywise and not throw in a bunch of sappy, cliched love drama.

As guy who does know nothing about this property it seems intriguing. But I feel aint gonna watch it if it's not great or amazing. Last few years can watch stupid shows with CW vibe, and total teenagers crap shows. It feels to much tv'sh instead high production cinematic style.

But hey, it's better than that Krypton trailer. Cheap GoT with slice of CW on Krypton.

Eh I liked both. But there seems to be more certainty around this show actually happening than Krypton.

Gloria Reuben? Kevin Bacon? Okay... I will have to give it a shot now. Plus it looks pretty sophisticated but still geared towards teen drama.

That wasn't Kevin Bacon but he does look like him.

Looks like another teen drama airing on Freeform. And look how they water downed the visual side of the show. I am meh on this. I'd rather see a lower budget film for C&D every 2 to 3 years than to see them drag this show for years.

I loved C&D and their story when I was a teen, so I am really looking forward to this.

This has a Freeform look. It's got a teenage soap opera vibe, but it's not Disney channel either. It hits the elements I was looking to see exploring race and class with teenage angst. There are hints of potential drug abuse stuff (at a minimum, the idea of runaway teens), but who knows if they'll specifically go there (I hope they will). Obviously, there are superheroic stuff to make it clear this is a Marvel film beyond the logo.

So I'll be cautiously optimistic.

I think they would have to tone down Dagger's costume for this show, because the 616 costume is way too over the top in terms of impractical sexualization, it looks a wardrobe malfunction just waiting to happen. Dagger's costume in animation and the Ultimate universe is more sensible.

I wonder who the bad guy would be, in the 616 universe, they got their powers through drug experimentation by the Maggia, in the Ultimate Universe they were experimented on by Roxxon.
