Colin Farrell IS The Penguin

Yup, me too. Since he joined the Disney Family (Marvel, Star Wars..), his tracks sounds identical, generic AF

I think he's done great work on the Apes and Mission: Impossible movies, but his Marvel stuff is weak. Dr. Strange in particular, where it just sounds like B-sides from his work on Star Trek.

I think Giacchino is like most composers. He needs to have a good rapport with the director to produce something great. I suspect he didn't have that on a lot of the Disney projects. Marvel is known for being very producer driven and he was a last minute substitution on Rogue One, which was a notoriously rocky production. He always brings his A game with Reeves. Zimmer is the same. We all complain about his work on a lot of projects being generic, but Zimmer always brings his A game when working with Nolan.

Yeeeep. Let's be honest, most of the MCU's soundtracks are weak.

And as I've pointed out numerous times over the past three years since Reeves was brought onboard for this film, Giacchino always seems to bring out his absolute best work when teaming up with either him or JJ Abrams. His work on the Apes films was terrific IMO.

definitely agree. that rapport means a lot.

Is Colin going to have to keep the weight on during quarantine?

Can you talk about how it felt getting into the Penguin costume in “The Batman” movie?
It’s all exciting. To be a part of that universe and just there are certain words that are part of my internal lexicon: Gotham City, Penguin, Joker, Batman, Bruce Wayne, Harvey Dent, all these things.

Tim Burton’s Batman was kind of my, no, I watched the Adam West TV show growing up actually as well. So Batman as a kid, yes very much, not in comic book form but the TV show I watched ardently when I was a child. And then in my teens I saw Burton’s version and loved it.
And then obviously I was a huge fan of what Chris Nolan did with that world and how he brought it back to life and gave it an immediacy and a contemporary significance. So just to be part of, again that folklore, that mythology, is again really cool.

I had only started it and I can’t wait to get back. The creation of it, the aesthetic of the character, has been fun and I really am so excited to get back and explore it. And I haven’t got that much to do. I have a certain amount in the film. I am not all over it by any means. But there are a couple of some tasty scenes I have in it and my creation and I can’t wait to get back. Yeah, I totally feel like it is something that I have not had the opportunity to explore before. It feels original and fun. But I am only at the start of the journey so I can’t wait to get back and really get into it.

Colin Farrell, Anna Kendrick and Jodie Comer on life, love, sex toys and COVID-19

All I saw in that blurb was Anna Kendrick, Jodie Comer and sex toys.

After finally watching The Gentelmen last night I honestly think Farrell is going be a great Penguin. To me he's always been a fantastic and vastly underrated actor though even if he hasn't always gotten the best roles. As much as I really did enjoy Devito's dark take on the character in Returns Farrell's could be something truly special and even more iconic IMO.

Dying to get a look at him.

Poor Colin, the guy has to be fat for who knows how long.

Just watched The Lobster for the first time and it reminded me how much I love Colin
Check out the Killing of a Sacred Deer . That **** is crazy . The kid in it is creeeepy and almost Ledger Joker esque in the way he operates lol

Seems to point toward this being more the take on the character where he’s Batman’s informant, rather than a lead villain himself.
I don't mind that, especially if it means he's part of Gotham's background and will hang around to feature in more films.
