Colin Farrell IS The Penguin

It's not really Colin Farrell, it is a different actor all together being used under the guise that it's "all prosthetic" why would you hire an actor just to cover him in prosthetic like that? it's not really Colin Farrell it is some one else completely.
Dumbest comment I’ve ever read since joining the hype in 2007.

Dumb? or did you really mean to say simply not adhering to vague non-consenting fallacious hypocritical fascist collective superfluous group standards laid upon unsuspecting independent thinkers?

It is not Colin Farrell, it is somebody else completely, but it'll probably have Colin Farrell's voice over in his scenes.

Adam West did not really play Batman
Jack Nicholson wasn't really playing the Joker.

Just like Darth Vader wasn't actually James Earl Jones

...What? The Vader point makes sense as James Earl Jones actually didn’t wear the suit from my understanding, but if an actor wears a mask or has face paint or whatever then they aren’t acting as that fictional character? Please tell me, what actors would you say have played Batman, Joker, and the like?

Darth Vader was David Prowse in the suit (in the original trilogy), and James Earl Jones as his voice (and Sebastian Shaw as the unmasked dying Anakin).

Adam West and Jack Nicholson played Batman and The Joker (obviously).

Well, no one really knows for sure who played, sometimes it was just their stuntmen I guess. I am just saying Adam West only played Bruce Wayne, a completely different actor played Batman.
Are you saying Nicholson didn’t wear that makeup and West wasn’t in that cowl? You must be trolling.

It’s Colin’s eyes and voice. You literally sound dumb questioning this. Also, an actor’s job is to bring nuance and mannerisms, body language to a role. Whether they’re recognizable or not. Colin was cast because of that.

So anyway, look how good the makeup effects are on COLIN FARRELL

Oz is such a detailed, awesome creation. The Capone inspired scars, the gold tooth, the leg brace...
It’s a weird thing to say when I haven’t actually seen more than a few seconds of his performance, but I really want Oswald to recur throughout the Pattinson/Reeves era. Kind of like Cillian Murphy in the Dark Knight trilogy, but with a little more meat in the sequels.

It’s pretty clear that’s their intention, I’d say.

That dude was wild, but seeing people genuinely have the "why would you hire an actor just to cover him in prosthetic like that?" take is hilarious. Like, just about what a performance is, then ask yourself that again.

I feel sorry for that poor unknown actor who played Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour only for them to give all the credit and an Oscar to Gary Oldman for some reason.

He said Pattinson isn’t actually playing Batman.

Hmmmm... maybe he’s on to something. Or just on.

Haha yeah, I wonder what he’s up to now. Maybe not unknown either. It’s probably just Doug Jones.

Happy Saint Paddy's Day to famous Irishman Colin Farrell!!!

It's wild. I can't believe how great it looks.

Those prosthetics do look great, the only reason I recognized him in the trailer was his "This guy's crazy" line. Can't wait to see what he does. While I like Jonah Hill, if Reeves was indeed looking to cast him would've been way too obvious for it I think.

I keep seeing the “Why not cast someone else if you’re going to make him look different?” question popping up online. And it just makes me want to ask...

You guys get that acting ability and appearance are two different things, right?
Re-upping this because I’ve already seen Farrell’s name come up alongside Leto’s today and I’m sure the discourse will be just as annoying when this movie finally hits.
