Colin Farrell IS The Penguin

Today is Philip Seymour Hoffman’s birthday. I have no doubt in my mind that he would have been cast in this role if he was still alive.

But I’m VERY happy with Colin’s casting. Small role i’m sure, but I’m positive it’s a recurring one. Inspired and exciting because the dude has been stealing the show in every movie & series he’s appeared in over the last decade.

As a fan of the character but not particularly a fan of Farrell's, I'm still very intrigued and hopeful that it'll turn out to be an inspired decision.

That makes me so sad that people aren’t fans of Colin. If you’re not a fan, can’t force you. But I hope it’s because you’ve seen most of his recent work and he just doesn’t do it for you.

I remember back in pre-TDK days when there were claims he was playing Penguin.

Colin is one of my favorite actors. It baffles me that one could watch In Bruges and then not be a fan of his.

If it's any consolation, you've gotten some lovely upvotes through the easy task of simply disagreeing with me. :cwink: Always ready to provide that service. :hehe:

In Bruges is fantastic. Although I miiiight prefer Seven Psychopaths in some aspects.

Still gotta see Three Billboards

I think any real complaints regarding Farrell as The Penguin have more to do with aesthetics (which are still to be seen). Talent-wise, I don't see what there is to take issue with.

Word of caution: I wasn't explicitly complaining when I said I wasn't a fan of his. Some of you seem to have taken that to mean that I hate him as an actor or that I don't see any talent there.

They’re hasn’t been a bad Penguin yet! I know people don’t like Gotham, but I think even they can admit Robin Taylor Lord was a highlight of the show

I really like Seven Psychopaths too! Oh, and you definitively need to watch Three Billboards. Martin McDonagh is three for three and in my opinion, the best screenwriter working today.

he was definitely one of the best parts. and despite Devitos Penguin being a major departure from the comics, I still enjoyed that interpretation too.

He could even be the best thing in the show. Certainly a top contender at least.

He only looks better because the rest of the cast was so bad lol.
