Collider Videos Cancels MovieTalk, Jedi Council, and Heroes

I honestly thought the whole thing was super awkward and he was mostly rambling on, and namedropping the people who were let go, and there was a point where he was tearing up — which at first I assumed it was because he was simply sad about the situation but apparently it was because he just found out his friend died live when he was looking at his texts.

Honestly I’d rather he had just released a statement via social media addressing the fan backlash and changes, or done a fan Q&A on reddit or something. I appreciate his willingness to interact with the fans who mostly are angered with him over the cancellation of these shows, but this was just a mess.
I don't see what the benefit was of addressing this. Literally nothing they were going to say would make many people feel any better about this.

Very sorry to hear about his friend though

Yeah, that video explaining the situation didn’t exactly do much. I’m not sure why he bothered to do it. It’s clear as day now what fans Collider had were never going to stick around after these cancellations, so who was he meant to be addressing exactly? The brand has just been further sunk. I’m equally unsure why Campea is getting further involved. He had his rant which is fine and all given the history he has with those affected, but I’m not really sure what interviewing Fernandez is actually going to achieve, unless he’s simply doing it to drive traffic to his channel. As far as I’m concerned the longer this drags out in public the bigger the hit Collider is going to get. I think the channel is doomed regardless, relying on celebs and deep fakes is just dumb, but if there’s any chance of fixing things it’s quickly diminishing.

Just saw the Campea interview with Fernandez, and I had no idea the last time Fernandez and Campea were in a room together they almost gotten into a fight...

Wow. I always knew that Campea didn’t like Fernandez but I had no idea that things were THAT bad between them.

Kinda an odd post

1) You’re criticizing him for something that pretty much every one does. Everyone uses melodramatic or eye catching headlines, graphics, or something. Double Toasted, Screen Junkies, etc. And it’s not just film YT channels. It’s called clickbait. Unfortunately everyone does it to get clicks on their links.

2) When it comes to film news most YT pundits and even sites just regurgitate what trades or other scoop sites post...

3) Some people prefer to read than watch. Same thing with sports news, regular news, etc. It’s not that weird or out of the ordinary so I don’t get why bring it up when it comes to him. It’s not because a hate of reading, some people just prefer it.

I think some of y’all take this too seriously…
“A middle aged avatar of mediocrity”? It’s not that deep.
I am aware. But campena usually gets brought up the most on nerd spaces. So he finds himself in my crosshairs.

This interview accomplished nothing at all. Just gave Marc a platform to say nothing of substance other than admitting he's cool with being a flavor of the month trend chaser. Oh I'm sorry he's on the forefront of technology or some ****. Whatever.

I haven't watch it nor do I intend to. What were the cliff notes?

Collider would almost be better off closing their video section down and just doing articles on their main website. Chasing trends and posting celeb interviews is not going to end well and most of their top-end talent has flown the coop because Fernandez had no idea how to use them.
