Are there any comics you remember looking at in some store, comic book store, book store, toy store, Wallmart, but you didn't get it and you still remember it and still wish you had gotten it?
Comics can often be a impulse thing, where you see a comic and have to decide then and there if you are going to buy it or not. Because its likely that if you do return it wont be there, and its sometimes likely that years later you wont find it either except in maybe a trade.
I have experienced this a lot. I will see a comic some place, like Barnes and Noble, K-Mart, Ralphs, or something, and think maybe I should get this comic. But then put it back and years later wish I had gotten it.
Maybe it would have started be collecting all of the Carlos Pacheco run on Fantastic Four.
One time I was at Wallmart looking at a Mutant X comic, and it had Spider-Man, with many arms, testifying at the trial for the Brute. The back of the comic had some poster styled pinups. But I didn't get it. I started collecting Mutant X, and I think eventually found that issue.
Another time I was at a Barnes and Noble looking at an Avenges comic by George Perez where they were at parade. The cover had the Avengers on stage with balloons with faces on them. Recently I got that issue as part of a trade.
Yet another time I was at a bookstore in the mall looking at a Spider-Man comic where bad guys at some super criminal bar exchanged stories about Spider-Man. In the end Norman Osborn walks in and tells his story. I eventually found this one too, but again by chance.
This was another comic I saw, but just didn't get. But years later, by luck, I found this series of comics in a box of comics a guy was giving away for free.
Maybe they were comics you really wanted, but couldn't get since you were already getting lots of other comics. Maybe it was one you thought you would get in a trade, but never did.
Or maybe just for nostalgia (imagining what it would have been like to jump on the band wagon of a comic that was big back then),
What Marvel comics do you still wish you had gotten when you first saw them all the way back then?
