I've always though Tom Selleck could make a good Gordon.

I think he make good Dr Thomas Wayne as well.

Batman-on-film reported a rumor saying Gordon is likely in BvS...

Makes sense.

And Batman on film/Jett are incorrect a lot of the time, but they also were the only people to report Ben Affleck was being considered for Batman before he was cast.

the big trades came out with a list of people WB was apparently considering for Batman, Ben Affleck was no where to be found. Batman on film were the only ones that reported Ben Affleck was being considered for Bats

I guess I'm not the only one. I've been watching Blue Bloods where Tom Selleck plays an NYPD commissioner and I thought "wow, what a perfect selection for Jim Gordon."

Not sure if anyone has suggested this - and it may be totally out there - but what if Holly Hunter (since she is attached to the film) plays a Ellen Yindel type character? I guess Gotham's commissioner would be a relatively small role if it's even in BvS though, so it may be a waste of a great actress, but it would be an interesting casting IMO. If not Holly, I'd go for another female commissioner; I could see either Angela Bassett or Susan Sarandon making for a pretty powerful presence.

Hey what if the Comish is black? Snyder made Perry black, after all, I wouldn't say it's off the table.... He wasn't opposed to changing Superman's supporting cast, it may be a possibility... although part of me is unsure he'd do it because he seems to be a big bat fanboy.

When Morgan Freeman joined the cast of Begins, many thought it was for the role of Gordon. That would've been awesome, but I'm very glad things worked out the way they did.

Now that we've gotten a completely comics accurate Jim Gordon (especially visually), I'd be okay if they strayed away a bit from Jim's typical appearance.

As far as I'm concerned, all the Commissioner needs is a brown coat, glasses and a mustache.
