I don't know about this one...

I'm a Com fan but the only thing he has in common (pun intended) with Roadblock is that they are both black. Roadblock should be a big dude. Terry Crews or somebody...

He said it's not official yet so we'll see I guess.

I been a Common fan since the early 90s...but I'm not a fan of his acting. Sorry. And NOT as Roadblock. I can see Terry Crews or maybe even Bob Sapp. Now there's a roadblock.

I've never seen him act in anything except American Gangster, and he only had like 2 lines, so I can't really say if he sucks or not. But Roadblock? That's like casting Steve Buscemi to play Hulk. Not Banner...Hulk.

Terry Crews or even Bob Sapp would be a much better Roadblock

If they wanted a rapper as Roadblock I could see LL Cool J over Com Sense. I have a question though, everyone keeps making casting suggestions of Roadblock as the "big black guy", but from what source is he a hulking figure? I thought he was around the same height as everyone else, just a little more cut from carrying machine guns. Wouldn't it make sense that he & Rock N Roll be the same build?

Since when is Roadblock in this? Seriously, WTF? He's not available because of copywrite bs so they put in Heavy Duty? Now, he is available and they want Common Sense to play him? Why not just get Dave Chappelle!?!?

This is just Hollywoods attempt to have a comic book/military movie appeal to the minorities.

To hell with this, I want a refund... of everything I've ever bought.

Some of this news doesn't make much sense but whatever. I have a feeling we won't see Common as Roadblock in the movie.

Isn't Heavy Duty the replacement for Road Block in this film? And wasn't Aby-something cast as Heavy Duty?

If Roadblock is even in the movie(doubtful) it's a cameo. That's why Common didn't sign on, because he didn't want to be just a cameo.

Yeah, they are already deep into filming, so I'm pretty sure it's just a small part or cameo as well. Roadblock wasn't some giant wrestler, so his size isn't an issue with me, and I've never seen Common act, so I have no concrete gripes yet. If true.

Anytime a black person is inserted in a flick that's not all black, it's because they're trying to appeal to us. Thought you knew that. :o

Oh. Okay. When you come with such a compelling and well thought out argument, clearly you are correct.

White rappers are inserted in movies when they want to appeal to the white kids that shop at the ghetto mall.

LOL! All this race talk reminds me of another of Hollywood's simplifications. Every time someone says 'minority', the focus is completely on blacks alone. Or almost, with a few Hispanics thrown into the mix. Which then begs the question, when are we Asians gonna get our turn? :woot:

Ooh, and don't forget Middle Eastern actors as terrorists. And the Asian doctors/scientists. Yup, they still heavily use the stereotypes in Hollywood.

Back to Com Sense as Roadblock. I'm a fan, and I think he's showing some serious dedication towards acting and has some talent, but geez, he looks NOTHING like him. Thats the biggest problem with this movie so far.
