no, but sports do involve atheletes being atheletic. What's atheletic about eating?

It does take skill and technique, which are needed in sports. Competitors also do alot of training.

Besides, sports don't necessarily involve people being athletic. Just physical activity.

I don't think it's a sport per se, but a case could be made.

If I use the above as definition(s) for sports then a case can certainly be made for wrestling being a sport. It requires skill, technique, lots of training, and certainly physical activity. As far as the eating goes, yeah I guess a case could be made.

As an aside, I agree that Pro Wrestling is a sport. Things like gymnastics and figure skating are definitely considered sports, and they're choreographed. I view wrestling the same way.

I dunno. I think it's aptly self-titled as Sports-Entertainment. While it's performers are certainly athletes to do what they do, the outcomes are predetermined which sort of goes against the grain of a true sporting event in my mind. I'm reluctant to give it full credence as an actual sport because of this factor.

Sports don't have to be necessarily athletic in nature and athletism doesn't necessarily have to be a sport.

However, to be a champion glutton, you have to train your stomach to be able to stretch to take in that food.

I've heard a favourite food of those in training is saur kraut. yech.

I suppose if it were a sort of contest, to see which pair could execute the best "fight", it would be closer to a sport.

Then, the matches themselves are predetermined, but it still has an element of competition.
