Ive been getting alot of pop ups on this forum, stuff like poker and what not. Is this something on this forum, or do I have spyware on my computer and how do I get rid of it?

You use Firefox or IE? I use Firefox and I've got no problems whatsoever.

agree, after I stopped using IE I rarely get pop-ups

So annoying...

YES!!! I was just going to come bother people complainin too.

I agree. Keep the ads off the page content please!

I don't even care about the "rollover and start spanking" ad or even the "is Brandon Routh gay" ad. But when the ads start dropping down into the middle of the page... they get a bit annoying. Friggin Circuit City. This ad drops down basically on every page. I rarely ever click a link on SHH that doesn't have a Circuit City drop down ad now.

Ugh! Friggin in your face advertising. It's hard to read posts with Circuit City popping up in my face practically every thirty seconds.

Merging my thread is lame. There are tons of other threads in the tech forum complaining about certain advertisments... but I made my thread about a specific ad. Also... this ad isn't a "pop ups ad," it is a ad that drops down into the middle of the page on SHH. This is bogus that you merged my thread with one that had nothing to do with my complaint.

Also... why the hell does it say "moved"? I made my thread in the tech forum. I didn't make it anywhere else. What the hell? I'm pissed that you merged my thread with someone elses that has nothing to do with this new Circuit City ad. "Moved: Complaints about Pop ups Go Here. Stop Making Threads About Them"? Pfft.

I am sorry for your pain
Bogus I tell you. Bogus. These damn Circuit City ads seemed to have stopped (or atleast died down). For a few hours there I would get one everytime I clicked on a link or refreshed.

That Circuit City ad was going crazy for like an hour. Seems to be gone now.

The mods have been kind of going overboard lately with this sort of thing.

ARGH! :cmad: I can't take this anymore. I have like 6 pop-up blockers running and they worked great until the barrage. A few would slip in every once in awhile but they would quickly close out automaticly.

But they've gotten stronger and more resilient :cmad: Now I get several in a day that won't turn off for anything! It won't close out. I try to x it out but it won't go away until the ad has loaded and been shown for several seconds.... and being on dial up it takes forever to get it off :cmad:

I only got the Circuit City ad a couple times, so it doesn't bother me as much. But when TBS was playing Old School they made banners for promotion and Will Ferrel would run butt naked across the whole screen :cmad: :cmad:

Learn how to block them and quite complaining.

^^^
I got the same problem. The pop up will freeze the screen for a few secs.

As SHH said once. Without the (****ed up ads) I added this < < < SHH wouldnt exist

So obviously SHH wont do anything about these advertisements / block ups so as Morg said

Learn how to block them

I'd tell you all how to block the ads, but I'm not allowed to:o

Theres always pms you just cant post it in the threads

Where do we go to complain about the banner saying "Is Brandon Routh Gay?"? I thought it was gotten rid of.
We don't need that crap on here.

yeah. that Circuit City one is annoying. I tried a pop up blocker, but it didn't work, and I was on Firefox... any suggestions?
