Computer Distractions

If you own a computer, are you able to do things at home without letting the computer distract you and keep you from doing something else?

Like needing to clean the house, but you're so into being online that you completely forget about it.

I get distracted a lot when trying to do Uni work. I google stuff, or come on here. Msn messenger distracts me the most though.

The only time it ever distracts me is when I need to use it for work. To write a paper, write a resume, do research...things like that.

It distracts me the most like now, its summer I'm going to Uni soon but all I'm doing is surfing, playing games, talking to people for an 1hr straight on MSN, & watching movies when I could be doing so much.
