Comedy Conan on TBS

I actually toured his show during the writers strike! We had a tour of NBC and we got to see his Late Night set and unfortunately since the strike was going on they weren't doing rehearsals and nobody was in the studio:(

It is cool though how amazingly small that set is. The tour guide said that they have camera tricks and Conan does tricks to make the set look bigger. For instance, when he turns it over to the band, he gets to his desk in a few seconds but they have him purposely look like he just sat down getting comfy when the band ends and the cameras go back to him. It makes the audience feel as if the stage is bigger.

I was surprised to see Jennifer Lopez is on tonight. Some of you may remember this story, but years ago Conan bumped J-Lo from his show due to the episode running long and she then would not appear on his show. This transcript here tells the story. I remember Conan joked about bribing her to appear on the show a few more times after that. As far as I know, this will be her first appearance. Should be good.

The website doesn't mention an appearance by J.Lo.

Disappointed that Anthony Hopkins wasn't there yesterday.

EDIT: Holy hell, now J.Lo isn't appearing today. What the hell is going on?

Yesterday was supposed to be Anthony Hopkins, but was instead Kat Dennings. Today was supposed to be J.Lo, but now it's Zach Braff.

Zach Braff is an excellent choice. So, I ain't complaining.

I don't like J.Lo much anyway, so whatevs.

It's just weird to me that 2 booked guests this week dropped out.

So J-Lo cancels at the last minute... interesting.

I heard on the radio that she was on LENO last night. Apparently, he showed a clip of her as a back-up dancer for New Kids on the Block back in the day.

Jay and Conan are still fighting each other, it seems.

So I havent actually watched the show since the new year basically. Hows it been?

Conan is returning to New York City in late October for a week of shows this year and going to Chicago in 2012 for a week!

:awesome: at Conan bringing back his Arnold impersonation.

Also, I like when they have Deon Cole play someone with a different name, despite the fact that he's known to the Conan audience as Deon Cole.

When Conan returns to NY, I want to see him continue his on-going fight with Stewart and Colbert.

I always love the "Kids say the darndest things" segments. The girl who said "but then again..." was too cute.

I'm hoping that Conan will have bigger named guests in the summer and I think he will:

Tom Hanks, Paul Rudd, Harrison Ford and Jim Carrey all have movies coming out this year. In fact, Tom Hanks has a movie coming out in July, I'd expect him to be back on Conan to promote that movie. I don't know if there will be anything that can top Hanks getting splashed by a CGI Whale, but I said the same thing when he got hit by a meteor when Conan had the Tonight Show.

Plus, the return of Hanks could mean the return of "The Oscar Winner F-Bomb Hall of Fame" since Hanks is a two time winner and is always very entertaining in his Conan appearances.

Harrison Ford has Cowboys vs. Aliens also coming out in July. I'd also expect a Conan appearance.

Paul Rudd has "My Idiot Brother" coming out in August. I was disappointed when he did not appear in December promoting "How do You Know" but he was always great on Conan. Hopefully he brings back the "Mac and Me" clips.

Jim Carrey has "Mr. Poppers Penguins" out in a month. Hopefully he appears on Conan to promote that movie.

Hanks and Ford are a given to appear on Conan this summer. Rudd and Carrey? We'll see. I hope so.

How many episodes will Conan even tape this summer? Usually talk shows take more frequent breaks during the summer months. I know the 100th show will air in early June.

Conan will probably tape for a week and take a week off.
