I actually toured his show during the writers strike! We had a tour of NBC and we got to see his Late Night set and unfortunately since the strike was going on they weren't doing rehearsals and nobody was in the studio
It is cool though how amazingly small that set is. The tour guide said that they have camera tricks and Conan does tricks to make the set look bigger. For instance, when he turns it over to the band, he gets to his desk in a few seconds but they have him purposely look like he just sat down getting comfy when the band ends and the cameras go back to him. It makes the audience feel as if the stage is bigger.
