really are they killing Homosexuals by the train load????
I think the holocaust connection was a little too much. The country is governed by Islamic law. Just as America has its laws and so does Japan and Great Britain. You may not like the law but again its not your country. When the people in that country feel the need to change that law then they will.

Yes, while comparing it to the holocaust might be excessive, I could always go the the lesser extreme, like how some people feel "my house, my rules" when it comes to how they treat their kids or animals...or even loved ones. That argument just doesn't hold water. I think that's the reaction they'd like, for everyone to just say, "It doesn't effect me, so who cares."

Here is Dubai law:

Article 177 of the Penal Code of Dubai imposes imprisonment of up to 10 years on consensual sodomy.

The idea of "their country their rules" implies we should keep a blind eye to it. Thankfully, it's by not keeping a blind eye to some countries rules that will maybe make them open their eyes to these moral wrongs. It's been through the outcries of other nations that people have been able to either get their sentenced lessened or to get quickly deported out of the country. But, imagine the people who don't have a country to support them?

In 2005 Puerto Rico repealed the sodomy law and in 2006 Missouri legislatures decided to repeal the anti-homosexual "conduct" laws - leaving only three states yet to repeal anti-homosexual "conduct" laws: Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas.

are you also not supporting anything from Oklahoma, Kansas or Texas????

Do you buy gas? You might want to check out some of the laws of countries that we buy that stuff from. You want to have principles? You don't get to pick and choose.

Actually, I did what I could to help with our dependancy on foreign oil. A little over a year ago I was driving a truck which had me spending about 80 bucks a week in gas. Because of my feelings on this, I got rid of the truck and now drive a very inexpensive car that gets about 50 miles per the gallon. I now spend about 20 bucks on gas. So, yeah, I did something myself...and, even though my car isn't very fancy (seriously, to get the best gas mileage without buying a hybrid, I even have to self roll up my own windows), I feel much better.

Plus, I do my part in the state in which I live. I'm outspoken in my beliefs, and I vote, call my senator or legastative representative, or let my feelings known in other regards if I feel it's something that must be addressed.

I know, but so's the rest of the world. So relative to everyone else, they're still filthy, stinking rich.

Actually Dubai is experiencing a rather unique financial crisis that has the potential to drive everything back down again.

I said that earlier.....i apologize for turing this into a debate about the morality of homosexuality when that is not the topic.
